Re: Mallee Football League Part 2

Not if the story is right that none of the boys are gunna make the 5hr trek from aulbry, coz none of them have clearances in yet according the the mallee website. so far the only recuit they have is tierney from sunraysia league. I reckon the cats might stuggle against the demons and probably most other clubs this year.
2 will be making the trip from albury with a third looking likely in coming weeks, blomeley back to jindera correct both albury boys will be playing this weekend for sure.

Re: Mallee Football League Part 2

Bill Barnes? heard he was no chance?? Massive get for hopetoun if it come through. he will kill it. look out for him and league medal.
From the looks of the scores, Ouyen are going to be very strong. Who were the good players out of the new guys. I see big Shan kicked 8

I think you might find that the cats are going to be on struggle st this year, fair chance that they will be flogged most weeks. might be an early/harsh call, since it's only the first week.

Re: Mallee Football League Part 2

Bit early to tell for sure but when WL get flogged like that the signs aren't good. Hopetoun were honest Buelah were good and bit unlucky Walpy depth an issue. My finals ladder (after one week and some haven't played hahahah)
Ouyen
Sea Lake
WU
Beulah
Hopetoun
JR
Woomelang

Beulah must be reasonable or Ouyen are the same as the rest as they were nearly beatin this week. Bit different to the week before. Walpy smashed Jepparit who will struggle like woomy, but they are getting teams on the ground which is good.

WU
BEULAH
SEALAKE
OUYEN
HOPETOUN
JEPPARIT
WOOMY

This will change of coarse but i think the top 4 are there for the year.

Any news on J/R? Who is coaching them? Any new recruits? They will certainly struggle this year i'd say judging by the weekends performance.

this straight off the malle website-Coaching Jeparit-Rainbow is Ashley Clugston and Mark *****. They have lost Jake Gale-Turnbull, Daniel Paech, Brent Tough, Matthew Walker, Ben Zanker and Joseph Vallelonga. They have James Weir, Luke Price, Damien Chester, Christopher Zanker and Michael Henderson.

Re: Mallee Football League Part 2

i hear that the tigers have named simon weekley and matt elliott to play woomelang this week, both must have sea lake as there home club, weekley played VFL last week and elliott SANFL. even with out these 2 i think woomelang would struggle to match it with the tigers. and if weekley is playing does that mean hopetoun get billy barnes back, might help stregthen them up against ouyen

Re: Mallee Football League Part 2

Yeah heard Simon was going to be playing this weekend. Is there a place where you can view the teams on the internet or was that on the radio?
Interesting the differeing opinions in the top 4. For me it is:
WU
Ouyen
Sea Lake
Beulah
Hopetoun (bit of a in-house fighting I hear- anyone shed some light?)
Raffle the last 2 spots between JR and WL
I think it will be a really close top 4 with every team capaple of beating one another. The next 4-5 weeks should sort it a bit.

Ouyen got pushed by Hopetoun so cant be too much infighting. Hopetoun might be OK or Ouyen had off day??

Sea Lake v Walpy this week will be huge I think

Re: Mallee Football League Part 2

i hear the big David Cox is making a return his Hometown of Sea Lake for a couple of games here and they... but also talk that the 2008 NCFL premiers, Boort are throwing bucks at him.. will be handy a handy pick up to a depleated Boort side.
Also, Ouyen on the UP this year with Danny O'Shannesy as coach this year again... Danny making his precence felt kicking 9.1 in the first round to start the sides promising season off- definatly a good player coach to have in the team.
i do hear both these boys are dating Rhook girls of Boort- they have a very handy Brother ive also heard...
:rolleyes:any thoughts to add???

I hope your not talking about Dion Rhook that played for the tigers a couple of years ago....:p

Looks like the final four teams are set already with only the order to be sorted out. I hear Sonny wants to come back to Ouyen, not sure if he signed a contract with South Mildura but only played in the twoe's last week. W\u and the Tyrrel league must have been close last week, although I heared that W\u just knew how to win at the end. Don't write Beulah off just yet, will be a great game between them and sea lake tyrrel. Looks like the grand final between the bottom two next week. Hopetoun dissapointing again, won't make the finals.

Re: Mallee Football League Part 2

I just noticed an old team mate of mine troy ferrier is playing for sea lake i was wondering how he was going?absolute gun footballer and first class bloke, watch him come finals time

Be interesting to see where they fit Sonny in. O'Bree and big Shan are the key forwards now and are going alright. Club is happy at the moment. Will it stay that way with the big unit there? Absolute gun footballer though.

Re: Mallee Football League Part 2

The Sonny has long well set in Ouyen and will no longer rise to shine. What you hear and what you see are quite often a long way from reality. A new era has began in this most famous town and in its Centenary Year the Holy Grail is once again in reach. Also sometimes a gun can run out of bullets..case in point!

Re: Mallee Football League Part 2

dont no about hands on the grail just yet as ouyen haven't played walpy underbool or sea lake yet. once that happens we'll see where they're situated

Seem to remember when w/u were going well..Ouyen were calling them walpy/ adelaide...mymy how things turn. What are they Ouyen /walpy/sunraysia...play a good side then grab the grail.
