The fact that youve only kicked 4 goals and 6 goals against StKilda and Geelong isnt just bad luck. Both these teams are the two best preasure tackling sides going around. Watch a player in the VFL hit targets drill goals then watch him when the games speed increases in the AFL. A lot of Collingwood players dont like the preasure.

How it ends up (in terms of how far Collingwood goes in 2010) is irrelevant. There has been no evidence since day 1 of Buckley/Malthouse friction. Collingwood have improved under this arrrangement. It may not win the flag but the advances it has made cannot be underestimated.

The Cousins thread (not that I have read it because it was destined to be pulp from day 1) is of no consequence to the Collingwood coaching situation.

Yes we realise he hasn't won us a flag yet, thats why his senior coaching tenure expires in 2 years. Judge him after that

I'd argue it's less difficult to adjust to a new coach when
a) you know it's coming and
b) he's already an assistant at the club
c) he's by far the greatest coach in waiting in the league and the best/smartest/diligent midfielder of the last 50 years

best coach in the league?

are u serious??

by what standards??

mark thompson in a short time has equalled him with premierships,
paul roos has a flag in his time with the swans
worsfold has a flag in his time

as a coach of the pies no offence but his record with the eagles doesnt count

therefore he is not the best coach in the league by far

Premiership favorites, and you're sacking your coach?

Only at Collingwood.

Promoting him actually.:thumbsu: 3 years as Director of Coaching...then 3 more as King of Coaches...followed by Sainthood.

Yes, because Eddie has the gift of foresight he should have looked into late 2010 to see what the circumstances would be when writing up the contract mid 2009.

Malthouse hasn't won a premiership yet. Favoritism is not enough.

Funny thing is even if we win the flag this year the media will put some negative spin on the malthouse/Buckley "saga" and make up some story about malthousr being bitter about stepping down

There is no friction between Malthouse and Buckley.

Its a non-issue, Mick will coach his contract out.

I dont know why ppl go on about this?
Id rather delve into Matty Knights at the Bombers, where there looks
to be a real problem..

is the flag a given for the pies wokko?

given that the finals will mount pressure on u guys to perform, the spotlight will fall on to collingwood and alot of pressure

all of a sudden the game plan changes, its about the big hard bodies, no more need for the 4 points and the speed factor will account for little as seeing u guys have had terrible innaccuracy on most occassions and given the saints and cats have the big bodies to play that sort of atmosphere and relentless pressure

its proven they have ur measure in finals
both of them have beaten u twice in finals over the last 3 years.

I would be more humble and a little more modest about their season, rather than letting arrogance get in the way of it all.

micks been there for 10 years now and 2 failed grand finals isnt something he can hold his head up high with.

wait and see how u fare in the finals champ.:)

I would have thought the crows and hawks might have been looking down that road early in the year given we both were like 1 and 6 and 0 and 6

its all rumours malthouse is on fire right now, wont go anywhere, especially if they win the flag.:)

I'm a Member. I know many other Members and supporters personally and also correspond with a large number of both Members and supporters via the web.

The vast majority are happy with coaching situation.

As I said, I don't give rats what you think. Why would you even bother your head about it but to conjure dimwitted troll?

Call me whatever you like. Water off a duck back. I know what I think and have no need for reinforcement from anyone on an internet forum. I am fully aware of the type of poster you are from the other drivel you profess to believe.

Even i am happy!

Our game plan is based on relentless pressure and contested footy, in fact we're probably the best in the league at it..
Saints and Cats have not only beaten us in finals but in regular season & even bloody NAB cup games (like they mean something?), they've had our measure for a while but that is expected because they're a couple of years ahead in their development and experience... but I think we've bridged the gap considerably this year as our players have matured.

It's ironic that an Adelaide supporter is giving us advice on what it takes to win finals footy... how have you guys gone under Craig after all? :p
