I'd take thomas and pendlebury of course. Why would we take murphy and kennedy when we already have kennedy! Unless of course that was the secret plan and we're half way to achieving success on teh first part of the OP.

Re: Marc Murphy/Josh Kennedy v Dale Thomas/Scott Pendlebury v Xavier Ellis/Beau Dowle

Are you suggesting Murphy is currently the best mid in the league?

Not sure if serious, tbh.

Murphy isn't, but I wouldn't think he is that far off Pendlebury (who isn't either)

Re: Marc Murphy/Josh Kennedy v Dale Thomas/Scott Pendlebury v Xavier Ellis/Beau Dowle

Murphy is as good as Pendlebury.

Thomas > Kennedy.

I'd take the pies two, slightly ahead of the blues two who are all way better then the hawks two.

Re: Marc Murphy/Josh Kennedy v Dale Thomas/Scott Pendlebury v Xavier Ellis/Beau Dowle

Murphy is as good as Pendlebury.

This is a pretty bold statement.

One is a premiership player and a Norm Smith medalist, who has been in AA form the past two years, and has earnt the label as a big game specialist.

While the other is yet to perform in a finals win.

I'd take Pendlebury any day

Pendlebury has a really gay haircut and is as ugly as a hat full of assholes though so im not sure if that lowers his rating ;)

hard to argue, good post :thumbsu:
and add thomas to that with many experts saying if a norm was rewarded for both GF's combined, thomas would have been the winner.

my preferences are pretty obvious and luckily in reality we actually have those two players

Please provide some form of evidence for this claim.

Leigh Matthews said it during the GF Replay telecast.

thomas and pendles.

rough draft for hawks given 5 picks in the top 22. muston, dowler and bailey (for varying reasons) have not done the biz.

That's 1.

I don't have an issue with the opinion, more of an issue with the tendency round here to cite unnamed experts to back up claims

Are you suggesting Murphy is currently the best mid in the league?

Not sure if serious, tbh.

And im not sure if you are serious about Pends being the best midfielder in the league?

Swan is arguably better, and then there is Chris Judd (won the BL last year), Ablett (who can do it in a wooden spoon team). All are clearly better.

And then the blokes like Selwood, Chapman, Bartell etc.. on the next rung that you could argue are better then Pends.

At the end of the day, you think he is the best midfielder in the league and I dont. And none of us will change there opinion so....

I'd take Thomas/Pendlebury slightly ahead of Murphy/Kennedy.

Pity about Dowler not making it, that pre-draft injury really was bad luck. He's in the EFL now and hopefully enjoying his footy.

All of Thomas, Pendlebury, and Ellis are dual premiership players on the MCG, well done boys :thumbsu:

Re: Marc Murphy/Josh Kennedy v Dale Thomas/Scott Pendlebury v Xavier Ellis/Beau Dowle

In all honesty I'd take Murphy/Kennedy still.

Pendles is ahead of Murphy, no question. But quality KP forwards are hard to come by so Kennedy's value is huge in my books. Classy outside HFF types like Thomas are dime a dozen.

No matter which way you go both are great options when compared to Ellis/Dowler

um no:rolleyes: these blues supporters crack me up:D:D

Re: Marc Murphy/Josh Kennedy v Dale Thomas/Scott Pendlebury v Xavier Ellis/Beau Dowle

I am a carlton supporter, would gladly take Thomas and Pendlebury even though they haven't been tested in a poor side yet like Murphy has.

As did Mark Stevens in the HS.

I think I read similar from a couple of other sources, but maybe it was just the two?
