How?? Please tell me how Bickley should get the same suspension that Michael Stevens got two weeks ago?

I feel sorry for D Wakelin, but it was not a deliberate incident to bust his cheekbone. Bicks was going in for one of his hard hits & recklessly left his arm up.

Usually when people go in for "hard hits" they leave their elbows tucked into the side of their body....not raising them towards a players face.

I expect he will cop games (probably 2), but you are going over the top!

4 weeks. Might as well bring back 'the sniper' if acts like that only get two weeks. Two weeks for elbowing someone in the face and putting them out for 6 weeks. You reckon im emotional!!! Use both your eyes, not just the one!!! If the tribunal is gonna be CONSISTANT with the two Stevens suspensions two weeks ago then Bickley should get 3 or 4 weeks...not two.

Dog act from a dog person

Lay off him, Macca. You know as well as everyone that Bickley isn't a dirty player. It was just a spur of the moment, reckless act, that he will cop a penalty for.

Just like th Port crowd were clapping every time a Crows player came off the ground with a blood rule ... but then again I guess you weren't one of them.

Haven't seen the incident so can't say either way, but the AFL website are describing it as a 'bump'.

Never seen Bickley do anything dirty before.

I guess it's lucky that no Port player has ever done anything dirty before, you lot would be in 'grave danger' from the broken glass from all the rock throwing.

Then by this reasoning we shouuld be awarded the Premiership because we've won so many in the past.

Macca, Macca, Macca, we both get on like a house on fire, but WTF?
Did you used to boo the Magpies players that were instructed for years to slide into packs knee first to try and break cheekbones of other players?

I honestly think irony is one of the best words in the English language I luv it!

Just like the Crows supporters that laughed and clapped when Primus looked to have an injury.

I dont laugh at any injurys sustained to any player.

As for teh AFL website describing it as a bump.....bumps usually involve a player 'hitting' another player with the majority of thier body - not just the forearm/elbow.
Docker Bart - the relevance to sarcastically saying Port players have never done anything dirty before is what?? Im struggling to find the relevance.

Yeah - maybe i am emotional. How would you react in the same situation Kane?? Im sure youd think it is fine if Wanganeen had of removed an important player from your finals plans.

I agree with Bickley being reported. I DON'T agree that he's a dirty player. It was late

No, McLeod and Burgoyne were late. This was way way late.

reckless

No, that implies that it was accidental, this was no accident.

& just plain stupid.

Yes, although that is being very polite.
He deserves at least four if there is any consistency.

Right...i can see the relevance now!! Because some Port players in the past have done dirty acts, then I, being a Port supporter, have no right to call anything anyone does to a Port player dirty. Great logic there

By that logic - your Freo mob should not have been complaining about French decking Croad that time, as once upon a time, Dale Kickett went on a rampage.

Great logic - ill be sure to use it next time.

Settle Gretel, you've said yourself you'd laugh if it happened to a Crow player. What is even more funny is how you sooks are talking more about this than the winning streak and the cemented top 2 position. Get over it.

irony : "a mockingly humourous use of words in which the intended meaning is the opposite of what is actually said"

And the irony you refer to is.........???

Hey Macca, I thought it was Bickley's fist personally!

Ahh well.

After watching and rewinding this incident about 30 times its clear for me to see that Bickley collects him with his forearm (close to his elbow) and not his fist.

Our top 2 position and winning streak doesn't mean so much when the upcoming All-Australian FB won't be appearing in the finals due to a completely needless act from Bickley, who should be above such actions.

Exactly Macca!

Finally an intelligent post by a Port fan, I knew it would come one day!!:p

Look Macca I'm like you as I don't believe in the clapping/chearing injuries sustained by opposition players. However, I was just trying to make the point that there are supporters from all sides (including Port) who get off on unfortunate incidents.

As I have mentioned before (forgot which thread as there are so many on Bicks), that it is a real pity that D Wakelin looks like he may miss the season. Also, I agree it was more than a bump & Bickley deserves to cop games (& he will take it on the chin). However, Bicks intention would not have been to severely injure Wakelin & he will get the consequences of his reckless actions.

How would I react? I'm probably not as emotional as you, but no doubt I would say my piece. However, with all these threads you would reckon Bicks has murdered someone!

Your priorities are skewed.

No, I think your brain is skewed. I said "as" much, brainiac. After you've learned the English language, perhaps you'll discover that Port fans are devastated that the almost guaranteed AA FB and club B&F won't be part of a finals campaign which he has been undeniably deserved of particpating in.

Perhaps I am still remember the time Carl Dilena copped an elbow to the face and the Port supporters were telling me to shut up because it was 'a fair bump'. When it happens to your player, its a mongrel act, if it is dished out, it is either 'fair' or just 'reckless'... almost every supporter sees it this way.

Be interesting if he gets reported by video, because according to the match report, there were no reports so obviously the umpires didn't think it was reportable at the time.

Tonight's Seven news revealed that Bickley has indeed been reported. No word on Montgomery.

And Russell Johnston got 5 games and missed the Grand Final in '88.. What is your point?? You didn't hear us omplaining when Kim Klomp shattered Rohan Smith's jaw the year after and he missed out on the '89 thumping of North Adelaide! Your argument is futile 'Brat..
