This bloke is a real piece of work. He has been called out for his depiction of African Australians several times this year and now he has decided to double down with his cartoon of Serena Williams yesterday. It is such an incredibly offensive work that I wouldn't even consider posting it here. Most of us know that the AFL invests much time and money into our indigenous community and prides itself as being at the forefront in this work and its indigenous players. I can only imagine how they would feel about this.
The cartoon has gained international attention and the subsequent ire for it's depiction of Williams. We all know that the AFL is extremely risk averse when it comes to social issues but I think it should bin Knights (which is exactly where he belongs) and look elsewhere for the premiership poster. If the AFL stays quiet as usual and does nothing as expected then I would suggest if your team makes the GF you should lobby your club that it seek to have the poster drawn by someone else. It is a test of where we are at, not just in the football community, but as a country.
