Fair comment there Simo. I don't think those change rooms have changed in over fifty years. It's a pity because the rest of Brook's set up is first class. Perhaps having participating clubs stage finals would encourage them to continually upgrade their facilities.

Fair comment, but unfortunatley due to other major infrastructure costs at the recreation reserve the clubrooms have been put on the backburner. There has recently been a new bowls complex completed, a second football oval complete with underground sprinklers for year round activities and the netball court are about to be re-surfaced along with new lighting towers which have just been erected. All these facilites are run by a Recreational committee. I'm sure the football club would like to have these rooms replaced ASAP, but we may have to wait a season or two until these other major projects are completed. They will definatley have to be at least refurbished in the off season.

being the maryborough/castlemaine league if princess park is unavailable wouldn't the next option be camp reserve in castlemaine providing its available. why should the clubs from that way always travel i think its time for the maryborough based clubs to travel over there. the finals should be shared between princess park and camp reserve every year to make it fair on every club.

About time he was red carded with the dribble that comes out of his mouth..he should be red carded from the gt western pub as he keeps drinking them out of jim beam

MCDFL boys ... I know Ryan Hayes' effort of 26 goals for Elmore is quite sensational but your forwards get among the Bags of Goals thread on www.countryfootyscores.com pretty regularly.

This weekend just gone sees not only Murray Bond (16) but also Chris Stone (14) and reliable old Seany Smith (10) getting a listing there. Surely it can't be just becoz of Trentham and Dunolly being member clubs of your league. Stoney has been a handy forward for many seasons, I'd say.

The fact that it's on the drawing board is obviously a step in the right direction LTM. Big game coming up Saturday for both Carisbrook and Harcourt.

now paul please don't come on to this leagues thread as you wouldn't anything about any of the clubs. they don't need to put up with your dribble just as other leagues shouldn't. you really shouldn't throw stones as you look like damien off the biggest loser. lets just leave it at that. if you have something intelligent to say about this league by all means go for it but if you haven't then p!ss off

By the way big fella who a you gonna be chock a block up this satdy night.another stranger????

Lets keep discussion to the footy boys!

Any reason why the Brooks away rooms haven't been a priority before now LTM???

It's not because they are not priority, it's because these other projects that I mentioned have been higher on the pecking order. Does this suit the footy club? No, but we are fortunate to get the use of fantastic function room facitilies and until the other projects are complete funding to improve our rooms is very hard to secure.

Try Matt Bond (16) Jock. Murray plays for the Maryborough club.

:thumbsu:TA, Wonk. Did they get the correct Bond Christian name for www.countryfootyscores.com Bags of Goals thread ??
The top goalkickers in each round get listed there every Sunday or Monday. He must be close to an overall total of 2 million hits on that website this winter ....scores/ladders/goalkickers/country footy stories.
It was a million-and-a-half hits at the end of June.
Sorry for confusing the 2 M. Bonds !!

Ah yes with young nathy out of the side for a few weeks, matthew would be loving the attention and with a bag of 16 who wouldn't?

And a note on the brook away changerooms, good to see the local work for the dole people giving a good coat of green paint a while back. Probably should have demolished it instead but what can you do..

Tips for this week:

Newstead Vs Maldon - Newstead should be too strong at home if they can hold Lea. Will Mark Ramsey be playing or representing the VCFL team??? If he misses this could make the difference.

Harcourt Vs Carisbrook - I think Harcourt are building for a finals tilt and should have Daniel Smith back in the line-up by now. They will be keen to atone for the earlier loss and should be too strong at home.

Royal Park Vs Talbot - Talbot too strong

Rovers Vs Avoca - Hopefully Rovers can find a bit of form and put up a challenge but I expect Avoca to be too strong.

Trentham Vs Dunolly - Both teams will be primed for this one and at Trentham it will give them the best opportunity to win. however I think Dunolly is the better drilled unit and will win this game.

Newstead v Maldon
Harcourt v Carisbrook
Trentham v Dunolly
Royal Park v Talbot
Maryborough Rovers v Avoca

Newstead without ramsey and maldon playing away really means whichever team turns up to win will take away the points. Very close.

Carisbrook are still the best team we have played to date (didnt see avoca tho) and should be too strong for Harcourt. Harcourts disposal by foot last week was very sharp, an area brook will have to pressure.

Dunolly suffering injurys and some minor club disputes will go close to winning. I dont know how trentham are travelling, but at home everyone possible at trentham will pull on the boots to try and pull a win.

Other two games are pretty straight forward.

Who do you play for again Alpaca?

Should be a good game to watch Harcourt and Carisbrook, Will give a good idea how much Harcourt have improved there fitness.I think the difference will be there forward line (to many options for brook to cover) IMO Harcourt by 20 to 30 points. But could blow out ?

Talbot by 65 points

Trentham by 30 points

Newstead by 18 points

Avoca should be to strong

wot happened at hedges rich and talbot boys.
bushies got over the line prety comfrtably --- close 2 four goals.
cant have been wether. sat was a much better day that sun. drizzley rain 2day (sunday) but sat might have been cold, but not dark and damp

After the weekends results with both Carisbrook & Talbot losing. It leaves top spot open for either Harcourt or Avoca which play later in the year? Can Royal Park sneak in for 5th spot? They are the only side that had knocked off a top 4 side.

Perfect day for footy..... We just didn't turn up to play and was a very disappointing loss. Take nothing away from Bushy though, they played well and deserved the win. Hopefully we will regain a few key players this week for the Rovers game.
