Matt went way too low for someone of his quality. Strong draft but looking at picks 10 to 23, Zak Jones, Darcy Lang, Michael Apeness, Luke Dunstan, Blake Acres, Jack Leslie, Jarman Impey and Darcy Gardiner all look inferior players and Ben Lennon hasn't done much either.

And it really seemed obvious at the time too, it's not like he was some hidden gem. So weird.

Everyone knew he'd be a prolific ball winner, I think the knocks on him were his endurance and kicking skills. Remains to be seen if he can get those up to really good levels or not, but he's at least showing signs of improving them. Teams definitely take into account athletic numbers more nowadays.

Just love how he hunts the ball. And has added tackling to his repertoire this year. So either he gets the ball or the other guy gets tackled.

Got to be honest, have not seen anything we did not see last year.

Difference is he has had more minutes as THE man in the middle. Has always been a great accumulator.

The next part I want to see is him do some damage distributing the ball. Once he gets that done with more consistency he has arrived.

Its not unfair. If you have watched the two play - Brad is by far the better footballer. In no way is that a knock on Matt.

Both have played 25 AFL games. Brads 25 have been much much better.

The only way that Matt > Brad is in his durability. In the unlikely event that Brad stays healthy - he will has the ability to be a top 5 player in the AFL. Matt Crouch has the ability to be a top 5 player in our best and fairest.

I was just saying Matt's average gets compared to Brad's highlight reel. Brad Crouch is the epitome of what I want in a footballer. I'm not under-rating him. Brothers will get compared, but if it was Matt Johnson instead of Matt Crouch more people might have noticed what a great player Matt is becoming. That's all.

But I agree with you, I will be pissed if he doesn't get smashed at every opportunity.....mark a spot on the ribs and hit it as hard as possible time and time again.

Priddis' kick has improved out of sight in the last 5 years.
He may be quicker, but still the type of player that doesnt really use his pace anyway.

My Dad who doesnt have foxtel last year kept saying to me Crouch never takes the ball cleanly. I am looking forward to him seeing the 2016 Crouch and me saying what was it you were saying about him last year.

Edwards made him eat his words and now hopefully Crouch does the same. Like Vader he seems to write kids off far too early. His knock on Edwards from 1995-1999 was he always falls over. Gary Ayres came in and said Shape up or Ship out and he went on to become a 300 Game Champion.
