Norm Smith Medallist
The amount he has bulked up in his first full pre-season shows he is going to be a monster in a few years, him and ollie wines going head to head will be awesome.

Love the bern, but only the week we play geelong do I wish we had him.BTW anyone still pining for Bernie?
Matt went way too low for someone of his quality. Strong draft but looking at picks 10 to 23, Zak Jones, Darcy Lang, Michael Apeness, Luke Dunstan, Blake Acres, Jack Leslie, Jarman Impey and Darcy Gardiner all look inferior players and Ben Lennon hasn't done much either.
It's very easy to imagine that those three will be amongst our best half a dozen players over the next decade. And all three love the fight. I am salivating.Throw in jakey lever and port Will have to call the game off at half time with half their team in the ED
Bernie drew the map. If we don't pick someone to follow it, I will be cross.Love the bern, but only the week we play geelong do I wish we had him.

Party at Sando's was the call if we got himAnd it really seemed obvious at the time too, it's not like he was some hidden gem. So weird.
Oh, the nablow?Just heard on Sports Day with Terry Wallace and Tony Leonard that Matty Crouch is leading their competition for best player of the NAB Challenge Comp thus far...
Everyone knew he'd be a prolific ball winner, I think the knocks on him were his endurance and kicking skills. Remains to be seen if he can get those up to really good levels or not, but he's at least showing signs of improving them. Yep.Got to be honest, have not seen anything we did not see last year.
Difference is he has had more minutes as THE man in the middle. Has always been a great accumulator.
The next part I want to see is him do some damage distributing the ball. Once he gets that done with more consistency he has arrived.
Good thread, but probably a bit too early IMO.

I was just saying Matt's average gets compared to Brad's highlight reel. Brad Crouch is the epitome of what I want in a footballer. I'm not under-rating him. Brothers will get compared, but if it was Matt Johnson instead of Matt Crouch more people might have noticed what a great player Matt is becoming. That's all.Its not unfair. If you have watched the two play - Brad is by far the better footballer. In no way is that a knock on Matt.
Both have played 25 AFL games. Brads 25 have been much much better.
The only way that Matt > Brad is in his durability. In the unlikely event that Brad stays healthy - he will has the ability to be a top 5 player in the AFL. Matt Crouch has the ability to be a top 5 player in our best and fairest.

He's a better kick and quicker than Priddis though.
I saw him hit someone up with a daisy cutter on the chest on Sunday, but they dropped it. It was either Jenkins or Dear in the first quarter.Everyone knew he'd be a prolific ball winner, I think the knocks on him were his endurance and kicking skills. Oh dear.Dear - bounced off his chest.
Don't forgot Jarman Impey once "beat" Eddie Betts in a Showdown by holding him to 4 goals according to Dwayne Russell. In before a Port lurker suggests "up and coming superstar" Impey is better than "slow and shit" Matt Crouch

Douglas. Has the body mass, and can dish it out when he needs to.You can bet your house that if we have someone do the same to Danger as Bernie did it will be the highest free count for a player in the history of the AFL.
But I agree with you, I will be pissed if he doesn't get smashed at every opportunity.....mark a spot on the ribs and hit it as hard as possible time and time again.
Who would you give the job too?
Haha, wonder if he's got a score to settle with Voldemort like he did with Callan Ward......Douglas. Has the body mass, and can dish it out when he needs to.
