May be wrong but only 2 now remain from the Wallet era.
Must say this year is one of the first times I have actually noticed our players have started to add bulk and definition, Jakey King especially.
Seems a little bit of a shame he has moved on after no doubt putting up with same dodgy equipment and now with the state of the art equipment.

I thought he did a pretty good job. We haven't been decimated by injury like other clubs over the years.

Having met him I will say he's a bloody good bloke too.

Great bloke is Matt,

He did a pretty good job.

Problem is, pretty good is not good enough anymore,

we need to be cutting edge market leaders in sports science, and that he aint.

looking forward to see who they come up with.

this really is a critical appointment.

ABSOLUTELY !!! HIT THE NAIL (YOU KNOW THE REST)

Obviously Cuz should get the gig

Never a good time to leave I suppose but I imagine fitness etc is something you really need a consistent message on. Wouldn't want someone who insists on a gap year etc

What do we need to improve in this area?

I reckon we need to be bigger. And Kingy needs to be taller

Any ideas?

Haven't met him but I think you are on the money Bruce. We've had a good run with injuries and for such a young list I've been impressed with their fitness base .

Good luck Matt and I have no troubles with him doing a thorough hand over. It makes perfect sense.

Seems that while he may not be the best in the business, he has a very good business head on his shoulders and has brought in those around him that can fill the gaps in his own abilities. Good luck with whatever life brings you. Once a tiger.... :)

Best. News. Ever.

Now put the FTF to great use and get someone to take us to the Elite level.

Hornsby was around since the Frawley era. Definitely time to move on, despite my lack of want of him being at our club, happy for him to pursue other things in his career and that it was a clean break up so to speak.

Very excited and keen to see who we get now. Great stuff!

So who do you want? Who is "elite" enough to be acceptable?

Sorry, don't understand. Where did he not measure up? How was he not cutting edge, what are the kpi's you reckon he fell short of?

Just for a laugh let's look at other similar ranked clubs and compare soft tissue injuries for a start. Games played by the top class players. Ellis gets thru almost an entire season in his 1st year. Contested possession (function of inside strength) compared to last year or two. Listen to Jake King talk about how quickly he got back from a PCL (Luke Hodge says hi).

Pretty good? Absolutely top class. Thats for you too tigerbob. Show us where he fell down.

compare our boys bodies to that of Geelong or west coast and tell me how they differ,

He has been there for 12 years, and year after year we look in relative terms skinny.

Nahas put on 6 kilos in about a month after hardwick cracked it over our boys being pushed off the ball after the west cost game, why wasnt this done in the pre-season?

His soft tissue record is good, but I would really like to see some more muscle and mass on our boys, Geelong have it, Adelaide have it, West Coast and Collingwood have it, I dont think we do and we need it.

Him or the several others who have experienced other elite clubs and can come in and enhance us further. Matt was with us from a young age right through till now. He barely had any experience when he came on board and grew with us as we were flat broke through these years.

Now that the club has funds, it has to chase the best. I'm not going to bad mouth Matt any further, I grew frustrated with his ideals, I like several others wondered why we were never as big, or as fit as other teams, and whilst our injury record is ok, I don't think we were ever in the 12 years, the best in this area. The club lacked funds in this time, so it had excuses, but now we must move forward. We have Elite facilities, so we need Elite minds in charge. I would prefer someone who has proven themselves in other sports or other clubs. "It's about being Great". Well, go on then. Be great. Get the best.

More muscle = more susceptible to soft tissue injuries like Essendon
More injuries = scraping the depth we don't have
