How do you figure that? We just got Mitlock with the last pick of the 1st round at 27. We've traded a probable top 5 pick for two in the late 20s.

It only hurts if there's a key or small forward up that high, we won't know that until mid next year.
We really truly don't need anymore mids.

There's also the doomsday scenario, that LDU leaves and we get an early pick anyway.

With taking O'Sullivan we really, truly don't need anymore mids.
It's down to how Whitlock might rate against any talls who might go early next year. And the benefit of an extra year of development he'd have over them.

I'm just relieved we picked a rated KPF tbh. This is what we got Darling over for, to help develop a young forward.

It's risky, but we'll still likely have 2 picks inside 25 next year.
Can look to really nail down on list needs and not have any pressure to pick the best available.

And if we don’t have two picks inside the top 25, it means we’re improving.

I'm happy to have Matt because he's exactly what we need.
But we did pay a high price, but that high price only hurts if there is a superior KPF or a gun small forward available early next year.

I'm OK with giving it the benefit of the doubt at this stage.

Putting together a pretty handy group of young big boys now. Chom, Dawson, Goad, Whitlock. Adding another one tomorrow night would be excellent.

Re the trade. Many on here would have accepted Pick 10 for F1. If we did that trade, good chance we would have taken Whitlock. We’d be in a similar situation (probably without the F2).

I must confess here to being quite chuffed about this.

The Whitlock boys are the grandsons of one of my first cousins.

Now having said that, I have never met them, nor even knew they existed until a couple of months ago!

What I do know about their genetics though is that on their mother's side, the Ford blood in them will guarantee that they will definitely fill out in time.
