Is actually improving game by game which is phenomenal. When you consider he was brought in for the same reasons we got Nathan Lonie we've clearly got better at selecting talent.

I love how at least 2-3 times a game he takes a mark, looks at his opponent standing the mark and you can almost read his mind thinking 'yeah, I can take you on' before just bursting off and leaving said opponent in his wake. :thumbsu:

I know the Moneyball theory doesn't really work with AFL but I reckon our recruitment of White is as close as you get to it.
Perfect recruitment for need.

His first few steps when he starts a sprint and basically is running on the spot are hilarious. Great, great addition.

Jason Cripps OAM, IMO

The ultimate challenge ... Chaplin. :D

Nnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just watching him now, love the kick out straight to his opponent, or better still the handpass directly to Geelong? Shall I keep the blunders going? Even Commetti made the comment when Chaplin was one out in the goal square "Chaplin doesn't like this set up at the best of times". Even the commentators have noted it.. eek

Anyway, lets get back to White....Just love him. Every goal, every run is just "delicious".

Was definitely in the camp that rated him and wanted to keep him (said it many times last year).

Wouldn't mind if someone knew the truth if it was 1 or 2 years we offered him. 2 yrs fair enough but 1 year I'd be pretty pissed at my club.

Anyways our supporters seem to be blinded by those facts.

Nah definitely one year.
Google "Matt white Richmond one year contract" and an article from afl.xom.au comes up.
For some reason I'm struggling to put the link up.

It's probably the .xom bit... :p

He's taken his patented double-fisted spoil where it belongs - up opposition clubs at transaction time.

You do have to wonder whether White was more important to Richmond than they gave him credit for.

Their short kicking, slow ball moving game style doesn't really suit his explosive style of play. He was probably reprimanded by Dimma and Chocolate if he even thought of using his pace to take the game on. He shows all the signs of a player who finally has a coach who allows him to play his natural game and he and we are reaping the benefits.

Surprised they didn't try and make him play loose across half back...

Xavier the saviour.......lol. Better than any shanked kick, loose handball, finger pointing, being outbodied by relative short people or piss weak tackle....Xavier the Saviour.

You just know that little gem would come to haunt him. Cant wait for someone in the media to bring it up.

Looks like a Genius Move Now
Seems we almost can't stop making them now. I just know the alarm clock is going to go off and this lovely dream will fade quickly so I can barely recall the details. And I'll probably be 14 again and have to go to school on a day with double maths.

Long time reader.

Just want to congratulate Whitey for fitting in so well at Port. He just looks so comfortable out there and is simply tearing it up this year. Up yours RFC and thank you.

However it's gotta be a big call to make, to uproot yourself from your hometown and the team you followed as a kid and wound up playing for.

Trav and co are very good at welcoming new guys to the club. Well done all round :thumbsu:
