Draft Profile Mature Agers 2025 edition

St Kilda are after him at 198 i would take Crossley before him, but we are talking about the saints.
Took on Crossley in the state game and had his measure.

He's the best ruckman outside the AFL, only other bloke I'd consider would be Oliver Eastland who tested Boyd a bit more a couple of years ago though Boyd has elevated his game again this year. He's an old school bruiser and the ruck rules favour those types. 1cm shorter than Nank but 6kg heavier. His strength is when the game is contested and tough, he will not only hold his own in the ruck but work as an extra midfielder in the contests with hands out of congestion generating clearances and add pressure with physical presence and tackles.

His weakness is around the ground marking. He's very much in the Xerri and Minson mould, low on marks, but physical specimens that find ways to impact the game.

Pretty much Brayden Preuss with the added benefit of playing games and not being suspended ? lol

It would be strange If they delisted Hayes just to swap him with Boyd unless Hayes body is shot.

I've never quite understood what AFL clubs didn't like about Kobe.

My only criticism would be his build? But surely an AFL club would back themselves in to build it up a bit!

That’s fantastic to hear. Really hope he gets a chance, won’t find a more committed club man than Brew.

Paul Amy has listed 75 names to keep an eye on for 2025 as they step up from local footy to VFL football in hope of being the next Riley Bice and Sam Davidson

Just the two from Essendon, see below

JORDAN BUSUTTIL, WILLIAMSTOWN CYMS TO ESSENDON:

The onballer is coming off successive best and fairests for Williamstown CYMS in the VAFA, where last year he won 13 mentions in the best. In one game late in the season he had 36 disposals, 24 contested possessions and 20 clearances, to go with 12 inside 50s.

SHANE CLOUGH, GISBORNE TO ESSENDON:

Clough knows his way around Bomberland, having been in the club’s James Hird Academy program. The 19-year-old midfielder suffered an ACL injury in 2023 when on the Calder Cannons’ list and returned to football last season with Gisborne in the Bendigo league. “He’s fit, tough, skilful, a good decision maker, and it’s great to see another EFC NGA product signed with our VFL,’’ Dons recruiting officer Darren Farrugia said.

Anyone you are keeping an eye on for 2025? Ive got my eye on Matt Foley (Essendon), RILEY BALDI (Casey), Clayton Gay (Frankston), Sam Toner (Richmond)

I mean if they fill a need in your team sure.

Kobe Ryan should still be on the radar if he keeps up his form in the SANFL.

Waylon Davey Motlop is playing in the SANFl for Glenelg this year and has supposedly lost a lot of weight and is taking the game more seriously.

Ruckman Oliver Northam who was on Werribee’s list last year has shifted over to south Adelaide and I reckon he’ll give an AFL spot a good shake.

Ben Hopkins & Olli Hotton will also be on the radar from the North VFL side.

You’d think Eagles would be all over Kobe Ryan, especially if they get another list spot available by the MSD.

Going to try and do an ongoing power rankings of AFL draftable guys for the year, updating weekly. Round 1 may be a little skewed as 3 teams had the bye (Frankston, GWS, Gold Coast), but here it is;

$5 Luca Muratore, Western Bulldogs VFL, 22 years old, 180cm, small fwd / midfielder
Kicked 4 in a resoundingly one sided affair against Northern Bullants. Expect big things from this buzz box

#4 Cam Nyko, Essendon VFL, 20 years old, 180cm, utility
Kicked 3 and turned the game in a topsy turvy game in the Bombers favour. Looks a class above

#3 Nick Williams, Southport, 18 years old, 190cm, utility
16 possessions in a clean display across half back for an under siege Sharks side.

#2. Riley Baldi, Casey Demons,, 23 years old, 181cm, small midfielder / forward
31 possessions for this country star. Inside midfield

#1 Riley Mason, Collingwood VFL, 23 year old, 197cm, key forward (Link to a Rookie Me summary of his game)
4 goals from 10 possessions in a 25 point win for the VFL Magpies.

Some honourable mentions and ones to keep an eye out for 2025 that may feature soon enough.
Ethan Williams (Southport) Wyatt Greenaway (Brisbane), Tobyn Murray (Richmond VFL) couple at Frankston im keen to see next week.

Anyone impress you on week one of VFL football?
