Going to call Aiden's bluff after last night and back HERMOSA in the 1000 Guineas night despite the third string jock being on. Was hot fave for the Fillies mile as a 2yo and ran pretty well there to finish second. I think people feel she is a bit one paced which is why she went up 30/1 but has been well backed all week.

On the protest stuff, I don’t mind our rules but i don’t like the application of them sometimes.

Often the explanation goes along these lines: “We’re satisfied horse X caused interference with horse Y but horse Y had ample opportunity to run down horse X”.

To me that’s ar#e about. If horse Y loses all momentum as he’s coming into the race and horse X puts 3 lengths on him as he regains balance, what’s the relevance that horse Y had 150m to overcome the blatant and substantial advantage horse X gained by causing interference.

Good work. You’ve got the lads worked out

Looking forward to a 4 horse Group 2 from Ireland tonight?

Very interesting renewal of the So You Think trial - definitely not a betting race but will be interesting to see if Magical can repeat a dominant first up win.

Also interested to see how Happen has come up this year.

I was watching the replay of the Kentucky Derby to offer my 2c, but saw they were racing on chocolate thickshakes and lost the will to live.

**** sake idiots just grow some grass, it's not hard. I have some in my backyard to get you started.

Garbage rule to disqualify dominant winners fwiw.

"So You Tink he's good - he's very good, stretching right away now..."

I sat up to watch that race but honestly couldn't read a form guide at the time. Some would say I haven't actually improved but damn that's a throwback.

Like Bass race 7 a lot on Wednesday at Sandown. Was ridden in an appalling manner last start, completely against its natural pattern. $2.50 against that lot will do me.

Haha do you know what I was thinking the exact same today when looking at the field. FMD can't believe I set my alarm back in the day to get up and watch the champ roll around in this barrier trial.

A lot of the dirt tracks in the US have turf tracks inside like Churchill Downs....they reckon too many injuries happen on turf

Yeah I was just talking some shit, have seen their turf races. They've done it the stupid way with the turf being the 'inner' track though.

Testing my memory but I remember reading a study that had Victoria as one of the safest racing jurisdictions in the world (Runners to breakdowns ratio). If I had to guess I'd say it's their bloodlines which are the problem if turf is creating too many injuries.

at 1st look the SA Derby field looks okay. Still don't think it deserves it's own meeting though.
I'd be doing wet track form again, probably similar as last week.
depends how much rain we get Thursday/Friday.

Friend of mine has a small stake with the group who share Santa Ana Lane and Declerationofheart, very much on target. Drew a decent barrier, and Clayton Douglas back on board. Track shouldn't be an issue, even if on the heavy side. All word of mouth but a fair bit of confidence from the stable. I am very much on board.

Very interesting to hear that SAL was almost not going to run in HK last week, apparently due to the quarantine rules over there, you can't be with your horse on the hour, every hour. Freedman was almost talked into running her, the morning of, after telling the owners he wanted to scratch the horse because he was concerned the night before ( not sure the exact reason). That is also a big reason they won't go to Ascot, although last year it was in the plan to go. Will be targeting the Everest again.

Mr Quickie has been one of my boys since November.

He's a real pro, but I just don't know if he gets 2500.

I'm probably more inclined to go with something a bit more dour that grinds their way through the trip.

odd for an early may mid week in perth but pretty keen to see a few 3yo's with group class profiles.

2 clash in race 2 even money a piece. will be very entertaining that race where i have them mapped.

then not to be mist in r4, very smooth moving type off dominant first up win.

Where does Champagne Cuddles sit in regards to the best open age mares in the country now Winx has retured? Alizee with her Futurity win probably puts her up at #1 but she is beatable on her day as Doncaster and Queen of the Turf show.

Considering it's won 2 races in the last 12 months, it's literally nowhere near the conversation, not to mention hasn't she won a Group 1.

Is this a joke?
