Since this is a footy site, here is a silly question :). Didak doesn't have the freakish skills of Daicos or G. Ablett, does this mean he is not a highly skilled player? You seem to only accept the cream of the crop in the silky skilled or power punching category.Fair enough, i won't argue that.I am just a bit more generous in my appraisal of a fighters skill and power.
The reason why i'm suggesting Hatton is overhyped is simply cos of what i am reading on the internet boxing forums.Just go to Eastsideboxing and search the threads leading up to the Mayweather fight and u will see what i mean.

I find the problem with Eastsideboxing's forum is the one loss by a fighter makes a the said fighter a hack.

I'm a fairly senior member at ESB, and from my experience, that's just what that place is about. Every fighter is hyped up, by their groups of nuthuggers. Pacquiao has the worst group, though at least his hype is justified.

To answer your question, I only consider those guys I mentioned as silky skilled. "Silky" is a subjective term in that context, and in my eyes, fighters that are silky skilled are few and far between. There are highly skilled guys, who are great technicians, but lack that freakish natural athletisicm that makes what they do look effortless.. which in my eyes is a major factor in having "silky" skills. Some modern examples: Oscar De La Hoya, Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera. These guys are excellent technicians. Highly skilled, good at everything, textbook fighters. However, they don't have the silky skills of guys like Mayweather and Roy Jones Jr. Hope that clears it up.
