There's a lot more to an MCC Membership than just game day. I'm well past it now, but I highly recommend (if you go through with your purchase) looking up things like MCC Young Members functions - much to everyone's disgust, it's not a front for the Victorian Young Liberals... They have functions on game days with food and drink where you can take in guests. You get your own function room behind glass and can mingle, or just stay in your group. they also have specific night (wine tasting, whiskey tasting, dinners etc) as well as functions like comedy nights and Brownlow drinks,
Golf days, use of the club on off days for dining, entry to the sports museums and ground tours are all included and good value to take friends, family and international visitors are also great perks.
If you're passing by and in town, you can pop in for a half of footy before meeting your mates for a drink in King St. You can go to a game and get behind the glass for some great views. Boxing day is huge in the members - starting from breakfast through to after the last ball is bowled, you can see many cricketing greats walk past and through the Long Room. Sheffield Shield cricket (I believe) even restricted members can get into the long room. With 15 kids and a few seagulls at the ground, it's a good way to get onto the chesterfields!!
As others have mentioned - game day is an awesome experience... really no matter who you follow. It's a bit sad that we changed away from the G from an Essendon point of view - but in reverse, I've seen some great games otherwise.
