I've just worked out what happened in the Waite/McGuane incident.

Lets not forget Maric is not getting a game because there is a better bloke ahead of him. McGuane is so crap he couldn't get a gig in our back line even when Moore, Grimes, and Astbury were injured.
Anyone thinking we will get a second round for luke is dreaming. If we offload him, just be grateful he is no longer rotting on our list, this is enough compensation for me.

I had been a massive fan of Luke's up until this year when it became obvious that a 7-gamer had overtaken him.
He has some good qualities that would benefit a side that is looking for a defender. His defensive skills are actually very good and he is as brave as they come. He's just not very good with the ball in his hands.
I believe he could offer Brisbane something and that's not just me trying to sell him, as the Lions brains trust are more than capable of making decisions without my input.
He's marked harshly on here...a lot of it for good reason, but he's not as bad as what it is made out on this board either.

imo a potential vgood to elite player as a junior. why he and bastinac did not go earlier has me beat. i thought him and bastinac easily the best two players left at pick 19. well the best two mids anyway. was a steal at what 26 27.
if he can overcome his knees with a little patience and time i think he will still be a damn good player. it will be interesting to see just how well he does come back.
