Hope we spend as much time analysing our game as was spent on the video of Rocky's contact with Priddis. Just saying.

We do. Watch any of the coaches wrap videos or follow the club's sport scientist types on twitter and you'll get an insight into that. That being said, I think the club may have spent more than $1000 in legal fees to get Rocky off a $1000 fine. It's the principal I guess.

Prior findings of guilt mean harsher penalties for future infractions I thought..

And why I never liked school.

I just saw, on Marngrook - led by Gilbert McAdam - the best, most honest assessment of the Lions I have seen. The reality of our position, and the assistance we need. For a Melbourne based show - more power to you all.

Best footy show on the box - by a street.

Gilbert is always supportive of us.

what did they say?

Gilly spoke passionately of the reality of being an AFL team in a NRL state, and the need for assistance from head office or we are gifting Qld to Rugby/soccer, basically. Well supported by the rest of the panel.

I backed Greg up the other day and he took it the wrong way and blocked me. Have heard from another journo in the scene that he is profoundly precious. The glassiest of glass jaws. I'm surprised he didn't check himself into an asylum for a while after Leppa cooked him on national TV.

It's a shame because I don't mind his work (by News Ltd's low standards anyway).

First question to Leppa after the Fremantle loss from GD was questioning his position.

Leppa let him have it.
Think he slipped over to England to ask Kyrgios who will win Wimbledon.

COMPARE the pair.

At half-time of the match between Richmond and the Brisbane Lions at the MCG on Saturday, Dustin Martin and Tom Rockliff both had 16 disposals to their name.

But in terms of how much impact they had had and the territory they had gained for their respective sides, there was a significant differential.

Martin’s 16 disposals (six contested) returned 343m gained for the Tigers, while Rockliff’s 16 (eight contested) generated just 30m and — not a single inside 50.

“To average two metres gained per disposal is almost disgraceful for the captain,” Fox Footy’s David King said.

By game’s end, Martin would have 35 disposals, 10 inside 50s and a whopping 728m gained, while Rockliff had a respectable 30 disposals, but just two inside 50s and 131m gained.

Martin had gained 21m per disposal for Richmond. Rockliff just 4m.

Yes Rockliff isn’t blessed with the same explosion as Martin. But King believes there needs to be a “total overhaul of how (Rockliff) is playing the game”.

“Is he winning enough of his own ball? If it’s all contested footy that’s fine because you’re getting it to the outside but when you’re an outside player as well you have to have more damage than that,” King said.

King’s rocket for Rockliff comes as the scrutiny on the Brisbane captain — and his side — begins to increase.

Since returning from injury in Round 11, Rockliff is averaging 37.5 disposals, including a career-high 48 against Carlton. But his impact on the game continues to be called into question.

Against the West Coast Eagles in Round 13, he racked up 38 disposals but gained just 296m for his side. Fairfax journalist Andrew Stafford in his match report claimed that Rockliff was “a superstar in fantasy leagues only”.

For the record, he’s currently ranked 16th in the competition for average AFL Fantasy points, but just 38th in SuperCoach — the fantasy game which takes efficiency and impact into account.

Becoming a trend that players are only rated on metres gained. If the people wrote this had any idea of the situation Rocky was in on the weekend then this article might have never went up. 2 completely different players. Martin a High half forward wing player with massive agility against a very inside midfielder. 29 kicks to 10 gets you more metres with Rocky spending alot more time in close to Martin on the wing. Rocky beat him in clearances, tackles and contested work but that doesn't matter because metres gained is better. Not faulting Dusty at all, he got the 3 votes on the weekend it's just a kick in the guts while were down type of article.

Kicking long doesn't always work especially with a skinny forward line like our own.
