FFS that should really get the ball rolling on am awesome season, the worst possible round 1 fixture available for any team.

Probably the best time to play them given we'll be used to the hot weather and they're coming off a shorter off season.

Yeah true, I'd prefer another bottom 8! Team, coming out round one and getting blown off the park after a long preseason does not go well for young teams.
I agree it is not a favourable draw, however, imagine if we came out and rolled them round 1 and returned to the Gabba in Round 2 with lots of confidence and momentum. It could set us up for a fairly successful season.

I think it's a terribly unlucky way to start the season given our position, personally.
Yep as I said "I agree that it is not favourable" and I can think of 14 other teams I would much rather face but taking a glass half full approach if we did manage an upset it would be far more beneficial in terms of building momentum and confidence as opposed to beating a fellow bottom 6 side at the Gabba.

Yeah of coarse, I'll be treating it as a winnable game once the season is approaching - just strictly from a fixture announcement point if view, it's the worst possible start to the season bar hawks at tassie I suppose. If we win it will set the season off incredibly, no doubt, but on the flip side (the more likely outcome) it is a bad start, Sunday game.. Fly home from Perth Etc.
Our Round one Game is my favorite day of the year, just would prefer it not to be in Perth, on a Sunday arvo vs the 2nd best team in the league - especially given the fixture is supposed to be favorable to lower teams - every other game offers teams an 'even' match up to start their campaign.. bar tigers v blues (though nothing like our mismatch) it's fine, I'll get over it.. Just excitedly opened the link only to have the worst possible news waiting for me.
