Here is the Meters gained (bottom half of the list). Gaff only had 181m gained.
View attachment 1743512

Top 3 meters gained were Tim Kelly, Alex Witherden and Dom Sheed. Shuey had 200 meters gained from 21 touches.

Gaff may not have set the game on fire but he was serviceable and not an obvious detriment to the team like he has been some weeks this year. If he plays at that level for the remainder of his contract it'll be ok. I could see on the weekend he was trying to go forward with the ball more often, even if his instinct was still to go back or sideways.

I think it'd be safe to give it another week before returning to sinking the slipper into Gaff.

Let the draft tampering begin!

I'm sure the kid will be happy to be on an AFL list. If that rumour is true, he's always welcome to not nominate...

sorry for intruding but we have seen this playbook before with Bailey Smith and Ollie Perkins and the AFL happily waived them through so it shows they don't give a stuff about the interstate clubs they are not propping up

Whatever your club does with what may be pick 1, I hope you get it right and in the meantime, try and use pick 1 in the PSD to maximum advantage to grab a player and if possible screw over a vic club in the process

“Why the AFL's next big thing needs to avoid football's graveyard.”

Yeah I wonder how far someone can push the envelope before the AFL must finally step in? What is the definition of draft tampering?

I guess if Cornes’ suggestions are not perceived to be favouring any team then it’s okay. But of course the other side to that coin he is ‘dis-favouring’ a side which strangely seems to be okay.

I think Cornes’ best defence is that he can’t be taken to be influencing anyone because no one gives a shit what he thinks.

Chris Scott calling VFL ‘most compromised competitions you can find’ ( bit of paraphrasing there).

Comments on inequitable fixtures, gather round,

When administering the competition integrity and fairness should pretty much be your first priority (again paraphrased)

Link ‘Most compromised’ league: Scott slams wildcard proposal — CODE Sports

May be paywalled.

PS Scott could have gone on further re integrity - GF contract, draft manipulation, trading picks, travel inequities, funding support inequities from VFL, media and so on.

Scott up in my eyes a little.

Interesting given the hand his twin brother had in a lot of that until this year.

The thing about the draft is these players don't get to choose where they go.

So draft CONDITIONING not tampering.

Ahhhh, that’s permissible.
