You do realise it wouldn’t be hiim who drew the picture or made the headline.

I am completely aware of that but don’t see him acknowledging or understanding that the trash that he writes and the gutter nature of the paper he works for (with pictures and headlines like that) has consequences.

“Nobody deserves to be disrespected in their workplace for simply doing their job.”

This twat should practice what he preaches. Look at the headline and picture for his article for a start. I am no Simmo apologist or hater. I think it’s time for a change. But the holier than thou dribble stickdick is spewing is a joke coming from him and that rag.
How has he been disrespected? Who is this idiot? And no mate, he is not disrespecting the fans by snubbing you. I don’t know who you are or waste my time reading the West.

Lol at Woodcock calling himself a journalist and a reporter in his whinge article.

All that campaigner does is rehash other people's interviews into his own poorly written articles. What actual journalism does he do?
Given W⚓️‘s like Damo and Sam McClure get regular journo gigs and screen time, I think old mate Mitch fits the bill for what constitutes a footy journalist in the 2020’s

I don't read the West, it is a rag, but I do watch the press conferences.
If a journo asks a stupid question, then dismiss it as such. Asking about shuey's future at that point is stupid.
But the rest of it wasn't. The journo has a point.

I was impressed with the way Simmo and Shuey called out the press when they were trying to doorstop Bazzo after his mum had died. They didn't rant and rave, they just let everyone know what the press were doing and people were rightly disgusted. It was a mature, professional way to conduct a press conference.

The way Simmo is conducting himself now is a little embarrassing and he is putting himself in a position now where he has to either keep it up for the next couple of years or back down Now he has been called out for it the backdown is going to be a little harder for him to swallow.

Hilarious stuff from the West this morning while getting a coffee. Terrible photoshop, Woodcock tears, a whole section called Eagles Crisis - must be a new peak, sorry, trough, for them.

9) Noah Long is a diamond in the rough

The Eagles have a long and painful rebuild ahead, but if they can uncover some more gems like Noah Long along the way, it's a surefire way to fast-track it. The nimble forward was taken by the Eagles with the second-last pick of last year's draft – pick No.58 – but he's proven to be quite the draft steal in his first season. The 18-year-old was one of the few shining lights for West Coast in Saturday's loss to Carlton, quietly amassing 10 disposals (five contested) at 90 per cent efficiency, in addition to his six score involvements and three goal assists to go with a major of his own. He doesn't rack up huge numbers like some of his more experienced counterparts, but his understated presence on the field will hold the Eagles in good stead well into the future. – Alison

Its a bit of a weird situation because the West Australian sponsors WCE. I wonder if it gets to a point where they pull sponsorship or they all sit down and have a chat about the tension between the 2 organisations.

And this is why our later picks are so important and I feel, until recently, we have been throwing so many of them away (or at least not nailing them). Of course it's possible to justify each individual pick and play the game of who after them was better and be left with only a few decent picks, but the issue is over recent years (last year excluded) we haven't nailed any of those picks into best 22 players. So that is a fail overall. Glad we bucked that trend with Long, as he seems like a gem.

The West and Stickdick would have genuinely sat around discussing him flying to Melbourne to "cover" that game and ambush Simmo in the press conference to see what they could drum up on a national stage.

Newspaper bank rolls a weekend away for their little Chihuahua just to pad their own pages with more trashy content. Most hopeful outcome for them is a Bevo Tom Morris blow up.

Sounds like he’s been covering the away games all season, to be fair.

I can't pick his voice from the others, but where's been the prickly responses in the recent past?

There's no shortage of it during club media.

I vaguely recall something similar against Brisbane, nothing before that.

But he said in his whine: “I am not a reporter who has just come in to agitate Simpson either. I have covered them in Tasmania, NSW, South Australia, Queensland and Melbourne this year alone.”

2021 draft looks pretty good with Jack Williams showing potential.

Sounds like something a reporter who has just come in to agitate Simpson would say

So brave.
