Yep - good article. It made me respect Cornes' work ethic though. His opinions might be s**t but he's a scab and devoted to making a motza at the expense of everyone else. I wonder how good he could be if he devoted it to proper analysis instead.

The only interesting thing in that Article is Kenny threatening to go to Gold Coast again. He did that in 2017 and got himself a three year extension - it would be marvellous if he cons them with it again.

15 Goal win this weekend and gold coast lose and you'd almost have to think it would be ticked off before next weekend. Oh the joys.

Gavin Bell seems to be one of those people that fails upward. He was our head of development for years when it seemed we had very few players drafted develop much, and now he’s been given a promotion. All this to a guy who was known for ending the careers of promising footballers while a coach at West Perth. He must have some dirt on someone to keep getting jobs like he has been. 👎
This a general thing that happens in a lot of industries. People dont get fired they just get reshuffled.

The injury information leak is so trivial and pathetic. Does it really matter that supporters found out on Monday night that Hurn wasn't playing this week as opposed to Thursday night?

The Natanui thing wasn't even really a leak. Just google achilles injury and you can see it is a long term injury. Nobody in the media needed anybody at the club to leak that to know that the club was lying about the recovery timeline. It is just that none of the journalists wanted to upset the club by having their name on an article that told supporters the obvious. So they did it under the banner of a Sumich column instead. But they still did it which is the first instance of the West putting something out that the club really didn't want printed. They will be worried that they are losing narrative control and editorial control over the Perth media courtesy of how badly things are going.

So i am going to make a guess that the crisis meeting wasn't so much about injury information leaking as it was about the bigger, broader and more important point that they are starting to get criticised and have things be printed that they don't want printed in the WA media. And if we keep losing the criticism might become more intense and open and that might start having an effect on supporter mood, membership renewals and ticket sales and if there is any debate about moving anybody on at the end of the year it might even impact Board sentiment. This was a meeting to circle the wagons and start trying harder to control media coverage of the club. It is not information about injuries leaking that they are worried about. It is the fact that the media in WA are starting to criticise them and publish and say things that they know the club doesn't want published or said.

They are totally focussed on narrative control. They think that the club's problems are like the rain. The problems are not their fault and they have no responsibility to do anything about them. Just wait long enough and it will go away by itself but make sure you maintain narrative control in the meantime.

Crisis meeting is media speak for a routine scheduled meeting

Amazing that you can start with
So i am going to make a guess…

And then state your conclusion as complete incontrovertible fact.
