Melbourne is the form team in the comp

We actually have 3 tough games against opponents desperate for finals spots: Sydney, West Sydney and West Coast.

It's conceivable that we play three good weeks of football yet still miss finals.

The Swans are done. Only scraped through against a depleted Pies team with the last goal of the game.

You would expect to at least win that one.

I would have thought you expected to beat the Pies this year when you were the ‘form’ team at the time. We know how that all ended....
We were limping to the line.

We nearly got beaten by Brisbane the week before.

Our team and maturity is better than last year. Gawn, Oliver, Brayshaw, Hogan, Salem, Harmes, Melksham and others are having better years than 2017. It's pretty lazy to think we're the same team.

They’ve stopped running around belting opponents which cost them last year, so they should be fine
They were a lot like our young group of 2015 in that regard. They needed to assert themselves, and were agressive. Apart from Buggs brainfade that seems to have cost him his spot, no biggie really to me.

Need a statement game, that's for sure. Smashing bad teams is evidence that there could be more to the team, but at the end of the day it's just winning what you're expected to, Essendon were a form team too (I know they beat the Swans).

My apologies, you were to. Not sure why I thought otherwise.

If the Dees finish strongly from here I'll put it down to the lessons learned from the Coollingwood and St Kilda losses. We're defending far better now on the outside and across the ground.

You learn more from your losses than your easy wins.

They needed to assert themselves by punching opponents in the jaw? Buggs wasn't the worst or the first for the year, so it was clearly an issue at the club at the time
