ANB?

Still a while away for me anyways, I would have thought. Mates coming together and playing in the same footy team brought me back to football, so a lot of my energy goes into footy from April to September.
You'll be up against roid heads if the competition has any prestige whatsoever. You have zero chance.

ANB - Austalian Natural Bodybuilding

All place getters are tested and disqualified for a positive test.

I personally know at least half a dozen who have competed in ANB comps and done very well, without ever having used roids.

You do realise how inadequate that testing is right? You could be juiced up 90% of the time and not get tested positive at the ANB.

What's your angle mate? You've made your point nice and clear, run along now.

No doubt, these people wouldn't be wasting their time in the novice divisions though would they?

Like I said, "you'll be up against roid heads if the competition has any prestige whatsoever". You might not be up against roid heads in amatuers, but you shouldn't be surprised if you are. Don't let that stop you from trying though, just makes any success you have all the more sweeter if you know you are clean :thumbsu:

Roids isnt magic
You could still beat a juicer if it was in an ammateur and they didnt prepare well and you did, if you were spot on with decent genetics and four or five years of lifting behind you.
Look at steve cook vs someone like chestbrah

Which one is the jucier and which one wins natty global comps

Nobody has said they are magic though. The point is they give a significant advantage. Pro-bodybuilding is a roid fest. It is prevalent even in the amateurs, simply because the use of roids is quite common among bodybuilders in general. Compared to the use of PEDs in a non-aesthetic competition like amateur football, the playing field in bodybuilding is far from level. Which is OK if all you want to do is have a bit of fun, but I wouldn't be aiming to go pro unless I was prepared to roid up or be very disappointed.

Impressive transformation btw, FBI :thumbsu:

Have to do this in two posts because the images are on two different laptops, but here goes. First image is me a few years ago, I think I was 20. Second image is me not long after I started working out, almost 12 months ago (age 22). This is when my girlfriend left for the US for 12 months, she gets back in 6 weeks.

Haha, yeah. Girlfriend tried getting a sneaky shot when I got out of the shower.
Haha nice

I have the same naturally wide hips btw - I hate it :( am trying to smash lat width on this bulk to make up for it

Thinking of wearing a belt on deads and squats to reduce core muscle growth to keep it as this as possible - probably strong bro science but its what a lot of mens physique competitors do

Might as well.

Age 17
Height 171cm
Weight 52kg
Body type, I'd say Mesomorph.
Diet: 2400cals (350cal surplus on maintenance)
I dropped to 49kgs about 4 months ago when I was labouring full time. I then realised how much I actually needed to eat a day, turns out I was only eating about 1800cals a day. So now I find myself battling anorexia I guess?

My plan is to bulk to about the high 60's for now.

6 Months on.

18
172cm
55kg
2500-2600cals a day, thereabouts
Have lost most my belly fat, made good gains mostly in my shoulders and back, only thing that eludes me is my chest has stalled for a month or more now. Will hopefully be 62ish kgs by Christmas time.

I've never really noticed the whole hip thing until I saw that photo from a few years ago. Looks like I've thickened up since, but yeah I've been focusing on lats a bit more than usual lately. I've added a few lat exercises at the end of leg day.

If you're working out hard and chest is still not growing then it's probably that he's not eating enough. If you're 56 kilo's i'd be dreamer bulking hard.

Or eating the correct foods. I think the calorie target is fine. That's pretty much what I eat and I've been putting on weight pretty consistently.
