Superb work by the Hawks. Would still be No.1 in Vic without the 6K Tas members gained since they started playing there.
Thought the Blues would be higher after all the pre-season hype.
Saints should really be much higher.
Dogs a worry too after finishing 3rd last year.
Good effort by Roos & Dees
All other clubs pretty much as expected.
Let's hope the GC sparks up a bit of interest in QLD footy from 2011.

Good work Hawks. Just shows what success does for some people.

The Eagles are in a had place. Only 42k because of stadium size. I am 15 000 on the fee paying waiting list for membership. I am just boosting profits with no hope of a seat. Then, they give 80% of their annual profit to local footy as a community owned club.
Almost makes me take up Swans membership.

Almost

The bar is being lifted every season. Now it appears that 35k is the benchmark or cut off when it was 30k the last few years and 25k only a few seasons ago.

How do these clubs in red survive in todays market and can they build with the rest of the competition? Geelong is above the Dee's (good effort Dee's:thumbsu:) with 35k members but they OWN their home ground!!! The Lions and Swans have good stadium deals, not sure about Port, but the others.....what does the future hold? How much are they going to lose this year?

North (and maybe Port) should get to 30,000 so 12 or 13 clubs should all have 30,000+ members

Interestingly 3 of the bottom 4 clubs are non Victorian.

Should re remembered re. the dogs memebrship figures, that is not including non ticketed where as the total on most clubs websites do include non ticketed. Also the dogs memebrship hasnt been upgrading in 3-4 weeks

? Really, as far as I am aware the ones bolded are fully ticketed figures..

Hawks 51,681
Crows 49,000
Pies 44,539
WCE 42,000
Carlton- 41,012
Essendon- 40,256
Freo 38,000
Rich- 36,589
Geel- 36,064
Melb- 31,000
St.kilda- 30,851
North- 29,513
Port Adel.- 28,333
Sydney- 27,000
Western Bulldogs- 26,500
Brisbane- 25,534

Unsure whether Richmond and Ess figures incl non-ticketed and not sure about Adelaides figure, should be over 47k ticketed incl. SANFL memberships..

My take on memberships is that they will continue to grow as tickets at the gate will have to rise, In my work place your not even welcome into football conversation unless you have a membership.

Pretty much you have to buy your way into being part of the greater football loop, whilst some on the other hand couldn't care less for the great game.

North's figure isn't fully ticketed.

absolutely. they're turning up in their droves to see the promise...

Nothing so peculiar & pitiable as an 'unlisted' troll...

And yep, 31k is a great achievement by the MFC this season - expecting a continued increase in coming seasons too, with the Casey move starting to bear fruit.

Not sure Casey will get you too many new members. It's good to a have base but in terms of getting extra members I don't think it will have that great an influence.

What could get you new members is being able to mail all MCC members next year asking them to part with $50 and be part of the MFC. Alot of MCC members wouldn't be aware of that member offer. That could boost your membership number a bit I would think.

Well yeah, that's right HF, I think it will have a pretty positive impact on Dees membership numbers when we do that. One of the ancilliary benefits of the renewed MCC alliance.

Most don't

Well North Melbourne do. I thought it was interesting the comments about it being a good effort by them seeing that if you include our non ticketed as well we are very comprable. If anything, the kangaroos have done poorly cos they have dropped off a long way.
