It is actually. You are just as bad as the Melbourne supporting moths with your assumptions. The sticking point was the year of the pick and not a steak knives selection that Essendon will most likely not use.
Essendon weren't going to use 57??

Wasn't Fantasia pick 57? Hunt goes alright too. That upgrade isn't worthless.

The reality though is that we have enough kids. Youngsters coming into the squad from here onwards have their work cut out breaking into the side.

Why do you think Melbourne got such a good deal on this trade?

On the hibberd trade?

Because essendon said it wont stand in the way of someone who wants to leave? Hence why they were willing to let hibberd go for slight unders

Im concerned to be fair, his stats dropped after 2013 & significantly in 2015, how will he be in 2017?
Let's just hope he has a point to prove!

Last time the Doggies won the flag, the Dee's were in the 6 following grand finals and won 5... just saying!

Agree, people are banging on about how great he is, but his last season was very ordinary and he won't have played for 18 months.

What's the general consensus here on who 'won'?

With their highest pick being 29 Melbourne were always going to "win" this, short of adding a future 1st or something silly like that. Hibberd is a gun back pocket with a beautiful kick and should be consistently in the mix for AA honours in the future.

Melbourne are looking very strong on paper!

Deeeeeeerp.

Nice edit. Realised how badly you stuffed that up and couldn't peddle away quick enough, could you?

Tell me again how Hibberd is a free agent at the end of 2017. Go ahead and count the years off on your fingers if you have to.

Tell me to do research.... you don't even comprehend the rules.

Good ine numptie u showed me

As i said go ask Jager if he cares he isnt a fa this year
Didnt stop him acting like one

Fair trade. Melbourne get a win assuming you get Hibberd back at his best. Essendon got pick 29 the best pick Melbourne could offer from this years draft. We most likely aren't going to use pick 59 as looking at our list spots we are most likely only taking 3 or 4 live selections in the draft. Best of luck Hibberd, hopefully you and Melbourne see some finals action.

I think this is a win for Melbourne. Good player, very good in the air, can carry the ball, tough. Hes very left sided and his offence suffers when the opposition puts work into him but overall hes still a quality player.

Buyer's remorse. Don't panic. Most of the suspended players had a disappointing 2015 because of WADA. Hibberd's in great shape and looking forward to a fresh start. He'll be a valuable part of your backline for the next 3 -4 years.

We don't really have enough list spots for 57 to be overly important for us.

Because you can only trade what you have. Last year Melbourne had 24. This year Melbourne had 29.
Agree, both clubs have a good understanding between them.

You're meant to be Captain Hindsight. Stop trying to predict the future.
