Not quite. Drug possession is a strict liability offence (like speeding). You either have drugs on you or you don't.

Well I have to physically restrain and sedate one drug ****ed patient a day on average at work, while I rarely see victims of alcohol induced car injury (less than monthly) working in my emergency department. So definitely comparable.

Sounds like police doing their job. Why does any search have to be random? Or why does it have to obvious for police to take action?

Tbh I am not up to date on the AFL's clandestine rules, regulations and policies, but I assume it'd be 2 strikes at any time. Could be wrong though.
