Coach Michael Voss

Well one thing is for sure I was getting sick of waiting to know ..so now that I know who our coach is, i can start dreaming about 2022 and how our midfield will function. would be great start to beat the tiggies r1!!
This... I want to see how MV deals with Dow and LOB... and whether MV can change SPS's mind about staying at the club. All three are talented and would have roles to play in our side under Voss. And not the roles they were playing under Teague and Barker.

Welcome Voss and good luck.

My fingers are crossed that you don't have an injury run like this year.

Finals or bust in 2022!
Stop talking about i.n.j.u.r.i.e.s... we don't need to jinx the club... yet again!

Wines disagrees with this.
Meh, who gives a shit about the Brownlow when you've just been smashed in a Prelim.

I also meant that in a positive manner for Carlton, Voss is as ready as any assistant coach could ever be for the big show! It also had to be at a different club to Port as he has been here too long, not because he isn't good enough, but because taking over the top spot works better with a fresh start!

our midfield group was the most in need of improvement so hopefully having a person who was a very good and uncompromising type of midfielder will have plenty to offer.

Welcome Vossy. I am warming more and more, and your obvious passion as an old Blue boy is still there which is great to see.

Welcome Michael, I have a good feeling about this.

Absolutely, but I'd expand that list to a few other players.

I think Vossy will be better equipped to appeal to Crippa's competitive streak, and won't let him get away with another subpar year.

I reckon he's going to absolutely love Stocker, and I'd expect to see young Liam come on in leaps and bounds under a coach who values that physicality.

And on the whole, I'm expecting him to replace Teague's "we want to play fast, attractive football" philosophy with "we want to be feared". Push the group to take some big scalps and become a side others are uncomfortable lining up against. If I were in his shoes, I'd be walking into the first preseason meeting with a video showing some of every players Jekyll and Hyde moments. Here's a clip where you avoided the contest, here's one where you absolutely flattened a bloke and bounced back up with ball in hand - you've got both of these players in you now, but you need to decide which one you're going to be moving forward.

Well, we wanted an experienced guy. Clarkson & Lyon were proven. Clarkson never an option in the end.

Voss took over a deteriorating Lions list at the same time the GC & GWS came in taking most of the young talent. He has kept having a crack at the coaching caper since then. No doubt learning much from his early days and along the way. Always showing up and never dropping his head. Resilient, passionate. The same way he used to play, unrelenting.

Has he the game day in the moment tactical sense? adaptability? Time will tell. But I back the selection process & their due diligence. I support Voss 100% wishing him every success.

One thing for sure next year, the Blues players that take the field will not be taking a backwards step.

I think that he will instill a sense of when to go and when not to go. No more of this corralling at all cost shit!

Haha Sayers doubling down and repeating finals is our goal...not backing down.

Can invite criticism and make it hard for the coach, but I kind of like how upfront he is with our goals.

Fully behind his upfront approach to the club's expectations. Why hide them? Finals are absolutely the goal. Expectations are only asking for another ~2 wins next year which is not unreasonable at all.

Footy is there for us to enjoy. Well, most of us anyway.

Really looking forward to the ride with Carlton and Vossy. Not convinced. But far from downcast with Vossy. It's exciting in a lot of ways. Voss is easy for us as Carlton supporters to like, with his strong persona and strong love of Carlton. He is also very easy to respect. A lion of the game, in the truest sense.

Carlton have given him a chance. And he has given Carlton a chance.

He is a man who can unite this Club and unite this playing list. There is no reason for any person in the joint not to like and admire Vossy. Any success we have with a Voss led Blues will be extra sweet.

Really looking forward to pre-season and Rd1 to get into it again.

Could be a great story, of second chances and redemption

Would have loved to hear Vossy's answer to the question on how we're going to improve on our problem areas.

He must have nailed it.

Looking forward to that manifesting onfield.

Welcome Vossy!

Bring #17 home to Princes Park!

Living on and growing up on the Gold Coast means I was exposed to a lot of Lions football growing up and as such a lot of Michael Voss, so I'm quite excited that he is part of my team. Probably the best captain I've seen, and now he's our coach. My rational mind has some lingering queries over his coaching, but the child in me is very excited to have him that around.

In all I'm happy with it and I'll be the happiest blue supporter around if it works out. Perhaps the local legend for me growing leading our club back will be special.
