Probably, he's very good mates with Matt Dyer. He isn't really a recruit from MN though considering he last played at Boolarra.

Isnt really a recruit ......... Child Please.

Bicko played ZERO games last year for Boolarra.

He played a token few games 2 years ago after he was cleared from Mirboo Nth before heading overseas. Bloody Oath he is a recruit because until he signed on that dotted line, i bet u a lot of money other clubs were into him.

A family member of Nick told me tonight he'll only be able to play a couple of games if that as he's going back up north for work in a couple of weeks, also his shoulders aren't in too good a shape.

Regarding Brendan Mahoney he trained at Boolarra once and hasn't been back.

Apart from ruckman Chesney Podmore returning to Boolarra there hasn't been a lot of recruitment so far, hopefully Bicko plays at least half the season and finals though.

Hey Guys, New to the Mid Gippy Forum so be nice....hahahahaha

hows other teams apart from MN Boolarra Newb and traf gone??

Any teams that may sneak up into the five or even push for top 3??

Boolarra just signed a guy that played up in Bendigo leagues. Supposedly a good get. Haven't seen him play.

Knowing the Boolarra coach well. He will be recruiting right up to the deadline.

Have heard good old thorpy are not getting many numbers to training. heard only 9 blokes on wednesday. tought year ahead for the dales ? what your thoughts??

You might be right, mate. Shame as well as they werent too far off it last year. Injuries crippled them for most of the year and they never ever had their best team on the park. They were pretty competitive in some games, all things considered.

Shame they are only getting 9 blokes at training!!!

I don't mind Yinnar this year. Reckon they could be the smokey.
i agree there mate very proud club yinnar alot of success, also hillend are abit of a smokey they play consisitent they will shake that 5 on there day the beat boolarra last year, but at there worsed there as bad as the bottom side, did beat 3 out of 5 top sides last year

what are your thoughts on morwell east and how far they will go ??
well going on from last year east can only go up. Depends tho! all these players gel and how long it will take them to do that, can not really see them been a force but they will be ok. lets hope its even a even comp like last year, but two bottom sides who i think will fall a little behind thorpy and yarragon will struggle unless somthing happens before round 1 which is always a possiblity i guess !

Does anyone know anything about Moe looking into joining the MGFL? I know it was mentioned on here a while ago and assumed it was just a bullshit rumour but keep hearing it off more and more people. Surely a club as big as Moe and with the facility they have now wouldn't be considering dropping down to a lower league??

this is a first class example of clubs not looking after players, and they still dont recoginse that they are to blame, they think smaller clibs the NB YYN Hillend steel them, and now they want us to give them our best. cant remember the last time they sent us some players when the could fill two teams and us little clubs couldnt fill one.

any news on lee cooper to hillend. did hear that one of a afl family (both of his brothers played or are play n afl) may be come n to thorpy for a odd game or two..

if these players do gel i reckon they could become a force palmer, brady, frank ben and sam marks, solomon are all really handy players who else have they picked up?
yeh be intresting heard there small players east have got, just a whisper i have heard. Newborough, Hillend have gone for big blokes. so be intresting to see how it pans out, with mutke and collins returning and horton for hillend and newborough kennedy, hancock, payne.

Did hear that at a meeting with all the key figures from the club that if they dont have any on field success in the next 2 seasons they were gunna apply to come into the MGFL, dunno how true this is but just what i been told.

I heard they been pounding the pavement pretty hard (triathlons, time trials & plenty of strength work) and there have had top numbers. Were has McKay been was at morwell east years ago has he been overseas?

He had a stint over at moe, i think his brother was there aswell

Hey there thought I'd join in the thread.

I think Traf are the team to beat again. New coach is a great appointment and the new assist coach Dan 'G Man' Grima is an under rated pick up from Thorpy. From what I've been told, the Bloods have toughened up over summer to match it with sniper sides like Newb, Pies and East.

I think Newb will have a solid year with their new recruits if they keep their eye on the ball and not the man. Doggies spending up big time! Hill End will possibly make the top 5 if big Karl can kick 80/90gls, great get by the Hillmen. East seem to think that picking up a couple of blokes from Nth Gippy means they'll make the finals, I've got news for them.

Yarragon and Thorpy will no doubt struggle which is a worry for their future. Not sure why Sherriff would take that job but money talks I guess, good luck to him and Thorpy.

Mighty Bloods
Newborough
Mirboo
Boolarra
Yinnar

Hillmen
YYN
East
Thorpy
Yarragon

Rhys Holdsworth to win medal if he doesn't leave to Moe.
Trail or Mutke to win goal kicking.
Traf coach to be named coach of the year.

Traf should come in and Moe head to MGFL:thumbsu:

They should try working on their skills for starters. They are slow enough without doing triathlons:rolleyes:
