i think we have selected well with Scaife, looks promising and with a solid build. We are going to have alot of choices with talls down back and up front and strong competition for spots. List is building nicely!

Very interesting. I wonder if Lewis has anything to do with this.
I floated this idea a couple of months ago and have since been locked out of the Mitchell Lewis thread.
Lewis is a risk given his injury history, which is what also makes him a trade opportunity.
Probably also means Ramsden isn't close to the required level, yet.

Scaife looks solid.
Good athleticism and skills without doing anything to an elite standard.
If he brings a strong work ethic and competitiveness, he could well become a player.

Selections have started.

Payne gone first and they had a reaction cam with his family and he looked like he hated being picked by North 😂
I'm imagining a court of law. The judge is summarising the charges against the defendant. The plaintiff appears resolute, albeit calm. The trials' testifiers and spectators await collectively for the imminent decision from the jury.

A tall, frail man stands up and reads, 'we, the Jury, find the defendant, guilty'.

A chorus of 'oooooo's' rings around the the modern hall, as the defendant is sentenced by the judge to serve 8-10 years at North Melbourne In-correctional Facilty.

'Tough call', utters the judge.

When I watch this guy's highlights (from ONE game), and compare to Jed Walter's highlights across his underage season, I find it difficult to discern why one is a top 3 pick, and the other fell to the MSD.

Scaife's athelticism is on par, if not better than Walter's.
There's no noticeable gap in skills, marking, ball handling etc

Could someone who has watched more of Scaife give us a rundown of why he fell to the MSD, and what has been the difference for him this season. I understand he has been a prolific goal kicker thus far?

Looks like Brisbane did well based on all of the pre-draft talk, with McLachlan and Beecken both being tipped to go in the first 5 picks.

Also, congratulations to Ned Long for getting another chance.

He has a lot of mobility for a guy of his size it appears by that footage. Seems to have clean hands, moves well and can use his opposite foot. I like this pick a lot as he didn't seem lost working further up the ground as well. I wanted the Geelong forward but if he is rated below this bloke then we might just be onto a player here.

Wishing you the best Jasper never in doubt 🤞 😂
The club published highlights watch those he’s pretty mobile and kicks well on both sides. Happy with the selection even if he wasn’t my first choice he looks worth the punt. His disposal is excellent let him develop with Ramsden and Dear and let’s see where he can get to.

I'm no expert on him, I remember the knock on him was 'has quiet games'. That could mean a lot of different things. He looks fit, looks like he's ready to have a crack.
