I can't believe there are still some that defend the arm raise to get a free kick and blame the tackler. It needs to be stamped out of the game. I'd be ropeable if I was a port fan. What Schuey and Selwood do is akin to taking a dive in soccer and we never hold back in making fun of them.

I watched all of one minute of the game, which happened to be just the last minute. I just knew that was going to happen, even as Shuey picked up the ball.

Shame for Port, but nothing will happen because it is only Port.

Don't know how many channels showed the game but the one I watched had the game decided by an incorrect umpiring decision where the player pushed the tackler's arm up toward his shoulder,over the shoulder,touch ear....
The ump was dumb enough to fall for the move that's been cheating the tackler for about 3 seasons.

Some teams are more practised.

It's not an easy one to adjudicate though. I think it's poor sportsmanship and needs to be weeded out but it's not easy to do so without continuing to protect the head/throat region. The one where the player has the ball and charges with his head into the opponents midsection is so much more cut and dried.

What's with him. He was in a different planet tonight constantly doing dumb s#*t. Flying early for marks, worm burner kicks straight to the opposition, playing on quickly and unnecessarily to put himself under the pump and intercepting his own team's handballs with silly arm taps.

He has pulled out some of the biggest BS games against Freo but I agree he was terrible. He needs to give the long sleeve jumper a miss. I noticed he copped a number of sprays from team-mates. He is one overrated player.

Dont know about overated ,can seriously play but other than that couldnt agree more with your post.....actually port had a few players doing alot dumb shit tonight,...some of their more credentialed players too,instead of doing the basics well ,too many of them were trying the spectacular/low percentage plays far too often

We got it better early for sure Rip, after the first ten minutes though until the end of regulation it was like 19 frees to 6.

Thank god there was justice in the end, I'm sure we can all agree on that at least.

And Walters...no Walters never does that. Polec used a poor technique, but in the issue of raising the arm, I agree...stamp it out. Toby McLean is the worst.

Why do you say this? It was fairly obvious on the telly. I saw it straight away, in real time, without the benefit of the replay. Do you think umpires don't have a good angle at times?

Anyway, you can deal with it in other ways too. MRP can make the decision to fine him points, after a review, such that if he does it again during the year he misses a game. Watch Shuey pull his head in after he gets done the first time.

Port had the better of the umpiring tonight but that Shuey call was wrong. Ump made a call under pressure and shit happens.
Port should have put the WCE away before the extra time anyway. Dixon was BOG if they won but his wayward kicking lost it for us. Port have given up too many games this year due to poor kicking for goal.
On to 2018....
