Said regardless of the result in the GF this wekkend, West Coast will offer him a 4 or 5 year deal and he thinks he'll take it. As far as sources go, all he really said was that it's "not pie in the sky stuff".

Seriously disturbing. I hate MIke Sheehan's opinion but he's a decent journalist when it comes to stuff like this.

SERIOUSLY DISTURBING... Who the feck would we get to replace him? Simpson? Ratten? Matthews?

Seems weird that he would want to leave a club that just made a Grand Final to go to a club which is only consistent in not being consistent. He isn't from the state, He doesn't get any attention from the media in this state anyway... He is still contracted for another year at Hawthorn, is he not?

Wait a minute, isn't he contracted? We could effectively tell West Coast to get f***ed can't we?

Also, timing of these news stories of late have been undoubtedly planned. How about the news story from last week before the Geelong game that we had taken Buddy's contract offer off the table... back in July. So why f***ing print it then?

A big **** YOU to Mike Sheahan for spouting this in our Grand Final week. If it's not bad enough we have to endure the world according to Ross Lyon and the all-conquering Dockers, we now have speculation about our coach in Grand ****ing Final week.

I can stomach the Freo hype, and all the "they have good pressure and stuff" but this shit just got too much.

I hope Guerra runs through the centre square at the first bounce, takes out 1 or two and follows through to wherever Sheahan is perched and decapitates the old fool.

Thankfully, I doubt the group or Clarkson give two ****s about what Sheahan has to say, but I bet the club will not be amused.

No doubt he could resign, sit the year out away from football and then sign with West Coast at the end of 2014. Otherwise what's the point of having contracts?
Unless he has a non compete clause a contract can be terminated by either party. They sack him he gets paid out like Neeld, he resigns and he doesn't get paid anything further but he is no longer an employee of Hawthorn and can work anywhere he wants to .

If we lose, he might go. The pressure will become unbearable for him next year. Even winning the GF would still feel like we underachieved!!!

If we win, why would he go. He would be given an automatic contract extension. So he would have a good side for a few more years. At present, the West Coast job appears to be rebuild, and goodwill will only last so long, when they lose a few games, in the fishbowl that is Perth.
