Re: Millewa Football League

i heard today that Tony Curran my pull the boots back on for Cardy this year?
Tough, little on baller but midfield is probably passed him now.

Re: Millewa Football League

Any news werrimul way, not much talk as yet, what are training numbers like and the chances of finals again.

Re: Millewa Football League

I think the Milner your talking about is Bag Az Milner (cuz to Irymple Milner). Great Big hearted player, with a bit of a knee issue. Has indicated to the club he is having surgery to fix it but looks like not playing too much this season. Although, if the General, Christos a few other blokes get there way you might see him out of the goal square this year.
The biggest problem he might face is, who's gonna kick it to him?? Numbers are very low at a few of the 'community clubs' including Cardy! i guess they arn't spending the cash that two others are!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey tubby1
training numbers vary
wondering if you were one of the four there monday, or saved yourself for the ten on wednesday. any others around or is this normal for the pies this time of year..

Re: Millewa Football League

Cardy got a match coming up against Lyrip. At the Lake i rekon. They'll need a few more blokes than have been training though. With around a month to go some boys better stop stroken there ego's and get their arse on the track. Good to see big Cods on the track at this early stage!!!!!!

A few newies into the Den, if anyones interested? Chopper Lambert back from Adelaide, Noel Giddings (Irymple res 08), Stoinker (Donald), Big Jake Zoch, Josh Allford (out of retirement), Chris Bounias (Fit??), Chris Maddigan (Whyalla - Brother of Craig).

Numbers may be thin at the minute, but i'm sure Cardy will have a team of gutsy players as in the last few seasons. Finals is the aim!!!!

Can confirm that 'Hey Tony' 'the BugZap' 'Yappa' Curran trained this week with the Cardy boys. He's always very welcome as he was one of the players that got em through the bad days a few years ago.

He looked Fit? Agile? Committed? until he said "What the F#uck am i doing here?". Mind you Craig 'The Pres' Maddigan was emptying hthe contents of his guts on the oval after a bit of a hard session!!!!!

Not sure that Zapper will be pullin on the boots for a run though!

Has zockie actually trained with cardy yet or just all talk?

Re: Millewa Football League

Yeah I can confirm both have signed and Ganey confirmed as an A/C. Not 100% on Easty being another A/C although i think he might be.

Heard a rumour Josh Kelly from Cardy will be travelling during the year so likely to only play a handful of early games. Huge loss if true as i put him as their best player and one of the best blokes also.

Could have bigger ramifications then just the Cardy midfield with his best mate Bogga not having any real ties their if Josh leaves. Could Golly be an option for the lightning quick defender???

Has anyone else heard the rumours around town with regards to the cardy coach from last year. Might be going to Adelaide now. Must be one very confused boy!

Word is still owed coin for last year playing basketball with the Heat. Just scaring them into paying up. Will line up again this year in baggy shorts and sweat bands.

Re: Millewa Football League

Are there any clubs looking for part time players due to work?? I want to find out for a friend who is out of town sometimes for up to two weeks. If they are interested they may have up to six extra players come with him.

I would say all clubs other than Gol Gol & Bambill would love to see them

Re: Millewa Football League

and as i drove past cardy last night(tues), there would of been about 15 ish players running laps.
Thats pretty good for a 40c day.

Thats a good effort by Cardy as i had heard of nights with only 2 players turning up. Even last year we would have been happy with 15. Looks like a few blokes must be getting motivated which is good to see.

Re: Millewa Football League

So,
Have any clubs had a practice match yet? Are clubs starting to get a few numbers at training yet? Just over 3 weeks out!

Re: Millewa Football League

Hey Boys, wot's up? been on camp so a bit out of the loop.

Big Zoccy has trained a few times but not sure if he's gonna play??? I rekon his Boss wants hime out there more than him. Think he'll stick with the B - ball. He may swan in for a cameo every now and then!

Heard a couple of murmurs about Luke (I’m coaching Cardy, I mean Werrimull….arrrr… Merbein) Gain. May be some truth to them? Haven’t heard he’s leaving town though.
