Reports that the debris found include the rear cover (pointy bit of the submersible) and the landing frame.

The use of the phrase 'field of debris' is only used where there is no chance of rescue or recovery.

Pretty much confirms that it suffered a catastrophic implosion, which, in this scenario, was best case scenario for all involved as it would have happened in milliseconds and they would have died before they realised what was happening. As terrible as it is for their families, at least it happened quickly...

To me it sounds to me that the craft shed into individual components and that the crew capsule may still be intact but likely with no means of interacting with the outside world just sitting in the darkness on the sea floor.

I watched a video on youtube of Stockton Rush, the now missing presumed dead CEO of Ocean Gate showing the inside of the sub.

It's literally a tiny trash can. The thought of five people stuck inside that thing, for days on end waiting to die is pretty horrific.

People payed a hell of a lot of money to go on these underwater tours, but i wouldn't get inside that thing for love nor money.

I hope everyone is found alive, but i doubt that they'll ever be found. As they say it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. I'm just shocked that there was no gps or radar tracking their location.
The more you read into it the more bizzare it’s gets with the cut costing with the safety measures and it’s just staggering even after the lawsuits and issues from the trail run that everyone allowed it to continue without even attempting to rectify those key concerns.

This guy says that the debris field is well away from where the 'tapping' was heard and that those sounds weren't from the crew.

So what could the tapping have been? They said it was consistent with what you're supposed to do when stranded in a sub.

With that much ocean around it could be literally anything. I read some experts claimed it would be falling debris.

That doesn't answer why it was consistent with the distress signal of a sub. 3 minutes of tapping every 30 minutes or something.

The people hypothesising most likely hadn't heard that actual signal.
The coast guard that got interviewed never confirmed it was consistent or 30 minutes apart either.

There was a sound years ago now (Google the bloop) that people swore was chtulu, turns out it was most likely an echo from a cracking iceberg.

You cannot emphasize it enough, we know NOTHING about the deep ocean.

On a suicide mission like this wouldn't they have pretty much signed that they accept all the potential harms to the point of death?
Gross negligence can't be dismissed by signing a waiver.

As previously noted by a number of people, waivers aren’t worth the paper they are written on from a liability and negligence pov.

That company may as well close shop now and start prepping the settlements.

This is an interesting thread that highlights what a suicide mission this trip was

This is incredible and well worth the read

Two queries that I have here.

They’re saying the bodies might not be recovered, it’s morbid but would there actually be anything to recover? I imagine the pressure and rapid implosion wouldn’t leave much of the ship let alone a body?

The aunt of 19-year-old Suleman Dawood told NBC that her nephew was “terrified” of the expedition prior to embarking on it.
Azmeh Dawood, the older sister of the Pakistani billionaire businessman Shahzada Dawood told the outlet that Suleman had told a relative that he “wasn’t very up for it” and felt “terrified” about the journey.
“I am thinking of Suleman, who is 19, in there, just perhaps gasping for breath ... It’s crippling, to be honest,” Azmeh said.
“I feel disbelief … It’s an unreal situation,” she said, adding, “I feel like I’ve been caught in a really badp film, with a countdown, but you didn’t know what you’re counting down to … I personally have found it kind of difficult to breathe thinking of them.”
Azmeh also talked about her younger brother Shahzada who also died in the implosion, saying, “He was my baby brother … I held him up when he was born.”
She added that her brother was “absolutely obsessed” with the Titanic from an early age and that he loved visiting museum exhibitions on the wreck.

Sounds like he might not have wanted to be there which makes it all the more sad.
