Netting Lukosius or Rankine (or somehow miraculously both) will be the only pass-mark for a Gov trade. I think most of us would agree on that.

If McGovern wants to leave - surely it is West Coast who he’d head to? They could use what they get for Gaff to get McGovern. If it’s North Melbourne Gaff is going to - they’d have to satisfy. If it was St Kilda - that looks a bit more straight forward.

I'd be disappointed if McGovern left and fulfilled his talents at another club. But right now there is a chance he won't become a consistent performer and will remain as more a cameo player, like he has been at Adelaide throughout his career so far.

If we can turn McGovern into an elite, consistently high performing player with the help of additional draft picks, that would be an acceptable outcome.

Gov's one of those guys that take about 4 weeks to get up to top speed. But once he's there its spectacular. I dont want to see him gone, but if we are serious about making a splash in this years draft then he's absolutely our #1 trade chip!

That will be Gold Coast's pick.. Carlton will not get pick 2. They will get start of 2nd round (p/p) which will bump their original 2nd round pick that we hold back a spot.

last year a old mid cost 2 first, and a young mid forward cost pick 12.
Whats a taller forward who can play key forward or back worth. pick 1 is not a reach if you want that player badly enough personally.
IF and only If he goes I am hoping its Carlton it will be interesting to see Ried in action against SOS when we have the home ground advantage.

Its got to be Carlton. MaClure is their little mouthpiece. Gov also loved Teague so this strengthens that arguement.

I honestly cant see how Crows would accept anything less than getting their pick 1. Not sure what eventually goes back with Gov whether that be Melbournes or our first but it has to be pick 1.

Only other thing I could think of is a 3 way trade. Going to be a very interesting trade period.
