2nds Mitchell stakes his claim with supreme effort

Injuries have been the only thing stopping Moore getting any consistency into his game. Hartlett had the same issues, as did Pittard, Robbie Gray.....And to be perfectly honest he's actually been good when he's had a run of games in the past. And if you truly believe his only value lies in being a bigger body around the contest you clearly haven't watched much of him.

It's difficult to tell with Moore. 2013 he got a fair few games but was played in changing roles across half forward and a lot of time as a tagger.
Then in 2014 he gets played almost primarily as starting sub just coming on as an impact player.
Would really like to see him get a string of games just as a pure on baller.

He wasn't our issue on Friday night, far from it. I do believe however that we can't have a team with Colqhoun, S Gray and Mitchell all in it though (yes I know they play different roles....but carn)
LOL OK then!
He wasn't the only issue, but we played with 17 on the park when he was on.

His disposal is far superior to the likes of Young however if the coaching panel thought as highly of him as most posters on here do he would have come straight into the side. There are obviously some concerns around his game.

2nd Qtr Westies game Moore streams into the forward line and slots a 50m goal on the run. It was impressive.
As I've posted before, for mine there are Q's re his slow decision making at AFL level.
Young didn't do his cause any good v Geelong so maybe the door has opened a bit for Moore.
If Mitchell comes in it won't surprise me. He kicked a lovely goal to the Southern End but if Sammy Gray keeps his spot
you'd wonder about favouritism.

Moore's absence from the side is as mystifying as Sam Gray's continued inclusion. Whether it's Ken, Voss or Carr pulling those strings someone clearly has no idea. I'm leaning towards Carr myself.

I like Jasper, but while he's in the side nobody should be kept out due to questions over poor decision making.

OR he could just make the "quick" decision of throwing it on the boot and kicking to nobody/out on the full like everyone else.

people seem to think that cos he is the 21st man selcted that he shouldnt be as good as our 5th selected and shoud get discounts. I dont buy into this theory. if we want to be a champoion team like the hawks and swans, then we need a team full of 5th man selected players

I only see him as a specialist sub at best, it's time for Moore and Ah Chee.. rinse and repeat selections make my nipples sting

My issue in the past with Moore was more slow than poor. He's a great size for a footballer and we need to find out how good he can be.
What would help everybody's disposal is more talking. Its no good presenting yourself to the ball carrier if your out of position.
I have memories of Moore being involved in quick link-up play only to see him pause assessing his options and those options
quickly disappearing. I guess the only way I can best describe my issues with Moore in the past are to look at Wingard and how
quickly he sees the play-on option and executes accordingly.
If Moore or any of the other fringe players are hesitant to quick play-on it might be because they are scared of a mistake
and thereby invite being dropped.
Maybe stop this revolving door policy with fringe players and tell them "look go for it your gunna get 3 games to prove yourself"
and not just as subs
Moore's SANFL form and his AFL form might be nerves. Tell him your gunna get a decent go and who knows he might blossom

Interesting comment from Hamish Hartlett on the news last night re Pittard potentially covering for the loss of White.

2H has zero to do with selection, so It was probably just a throw away `monday night ' line, but I could see Jasper's run and carry being more damaging on the wing than from the half back line, particularly on the broad expanses of the mcg. ;)

The Mitchell saga doesn't really strike me as important, what I did take away from that report was the comments regarding our First year players.

Fampton, Dougie & Palmer sound like they are all highly competitive individuals who aren't afraid to put their head over the ball and get their hands dirty. Best news I've heard all week in what has been a pretty shit week for the club on and off the field.

Mitchell gives hinkley what he wants , he spreads really hard into space.

That part of his game is excellent , and great when port is winning the ball and moving it like we like to

If we are not winning the ball and moving it quickly he is as useless as **** on a bull.

if we play like last week Mitchell can run really quick to our forwards, who he probably past on the way to the forward line, I couldn't care less who runs around all day I just want somebody (in a Port guernsey) to be sitting in our forward 50 when we enter it, i'm sure it's worth a shot, radical idea and all but you never know.....

Yep, we need a team full of 5th selected players.......I don't even know what this means but I do know that the hawks or swans don't have it.

Played with 17 on the park with Lobbe in ruck to. People aren't calling for him to be dropped.

I am and I'm his buddy. There are plenty of others doing so too, especially when Ryder is back, can't really drop him yet.

That's absolute crap. He wouldn't have been in our worst 6 - 8 players. Sam Gray for instance was substantially worse.

But hey
You have to be fooking kidding me!
He was worse than Pittard even!
