I've seen it suggested on social media that if the manager challenges whether the pitcher is using illegal substances and the umpires don't find anything, the pitcher's team gets an extra run. Might be a little overboard, but Buck was clearly trying to mess with Joe's rhythm since he's been pretty much lights out the whole game.

I agreed with the commentators, must be an incredible ego boost. It's basically conceding that Musgrove has been too good, which tbh, he has. Mets certainly could have done more to try and throw him off his rhythm.
