Seattle going to Robbie Ray to pitch to Yordan Alvarez, who represents the winning run (Astros with two on in the bottom of the ninth trailing 7-5). Massive leverage spot in the context of the game.

That'll be a supercharge for Yordan and a October moment in MLB the Show, for sure.

I get into work and the Mariners are leading 7-3. I see on social media that the Astros have Yordan at the plate trailing 7-5, with Robbie Ray coming into pitch, and I see the walk-off.

The Mariners manager has to take a huge part of the blame for this. Just walk Alvarez, and don't put in a pitcher who is specialising in throwing meatballs down the heart of the plate. That's the type of loss that will kill you for the rest of the series. Mariners lucky this is best of five, because Astros have all the momentum right now.

Yeah big loss for the Mariners - had it in their grasp and let it slip - demoralising for them and the opposite for the Astros.

The usual of something new in Baseball everyday.

150+ years of Baseball history and there is still something that happened that has either never happened before or has happened once before.

I dont think ive ever heard this commentator on the Yankees v Indians game....(usually only watch Brave games and playoffs the last 3 or 4 years)

Making Cole get his pitch count up 1st inning which is good
You haven't heard of BoB Costas?

Is that for Houston only?

If not, i find that almost impossible to believe - i believe her but just seems so strange there had never been a walk off home run with multiple runners on.

And only 4 ever walk off home runs when trailing? crazy stats

Sarah Langs knows her stuff. I'd take her word for it. Unfortunately, she's also been diagnosed with ALS (the Mets posted a well wishes message to their scoreboard during the Wild Card game 1 against the Padres).
