Crazy! We could really have Cleveland, Philadelphia and San Diego all in the LCS this year. Don’t let it be said that there aren’t 5-7 teams that could go all the way in any given year in Baseball. Such an even sport.

Should be best of 7 series. Best of 3 and best of 5 don't always have best team winning

We will probably never have a best of 7 in the wildcard and LDS rounds. It’s probably a time constraint thing, if you have a longer series each round, Baseball will go into the middle of November when the weather is very cold. Basketball and Hockey can manage 7 game series, each round, as they are indoor sports.

Although the Phillies wouldn’t have made wildcard last season. MLB do chop and change their rules.
ITs not a fair comp for that win 100+ and finish 10+ ahead of their division rivals only to get best of 5 series.

Thing is if it was BO7 the Braves would have to win 3 consecutive games to beat them. I agree divisional series should be 7 games though, if coming up against the likes of Astros/Dodgers you'd certainly fancy your chances more than over 7.

Yeah, I don’t know what to make of the expanded postseason. 12 teams is 40% of teams making the postseason, too many teams IMO. 2 divisions this year had 3 teams each making the postseasons, 2 of them finished with 87 and 86 wins. In 2015, the Cardinals, Pirates and Cubs all made the postseason from the same division, with 100, 98 and 97 wins.
