He's the best tap ruckman I've seen, I've been following the game since the mid 70s. If he'd spent his entire career at Geelong then, imo, Geelong would have had an extra 2 or 3 flags in that time, at least

I completely agree regarding Tom Stewart. Like what does he do other than get cheap switch uncontested marks and cheap stats from kick ins? He makes Jake Lloyd look like a contested beast. Extremely overrated.

Leads the league in marks, top 5 in kicks, top 10 in intercepts, rebound 50s, top 15 in effective disposals per game as well as meters gained. He does a lot and if you can't see that then you must not know how footy works.

Not sure too many people would have thought differently. His knee injuries ruined who he could have been. Even now he can’t back it up consistently because his body won’t let him.

I laugh reading criticism of Tom Stewart like ‘he’s not accountable/doesn’t take a key forward/just gets cheap possessions’
**** how dumb do you have to be?
do you think he just runs out there and decides to do that and is lazy and unaccountable?
or do you think that with Henry, Henderson, Kolodjashnij and Blicavs as our ‘nominated’ key defenders that MAYBE the myriad coaching staff have assigned Stewart a role marshalling the backline and being the guy that is there to intercept, clean up, take marks, use the ball basically better than any of our midfielders, as spearhead our attack out of the back half?
