Most overrated player in the AFL currently?

Generational would indicate he is far above and beyond the other players in recent drafts. And he's not.

He's putting up peak GAJ numbers in his second season in the league.

He wasn't a midfielder as a junior either. He's just walked into the league and was an elite HBF - a completely foreign position - from day one.

He then moves into the midfield in his second season and dominates from the first game.

No

Hahahaha I wrote that Sheezel thread in complete jest but it’s aged so incredibly well

I knew he was talented but I didn’t think he could genuinely be a potential generational player

At this point I think you must be a huge nuffy if you don’t recognise that he will be a generational talent
He's a freakishly good player. Very switched on too. He's not playing this week. We're screwed.

Not any more.

These days generational means maybe the best in his draft, maybe second best. There's a couple every year.

Jeez, how hath the mighty fallen. Seriously, what has happened. Any Demons fans care to offer an explanation?
And yes I know there has been some off-field drama but a player like him never loses his talent. So if it's not talent then it's got to be his will and motivation that has evaporated.
A year ago I would have murdered to get him in a Cats jumper. Now, I wouldn't even jaywalk across a busy road to get him

Form dropped away when Joel Smith got caught. Make of that what you will.

LDU
Shai Bolton
Luke Jackson

I doubt anyone outside of the most one eyed Pies fans would agree with this. Moore is a rockstar defender, Barrass is a rock. One v one he's imperious
Except when Moore went forward and played on Barrass in a game early on 2021 he kicked 3 goals on him and was outmarking him.

Will be interesting to see how Barrass fares for the Hawks. He may well be the difference maker but will probably be expected to lead their backline.

Even in retirement he's still overrated.

One hell of a career. :confusedv1:
More like bog average.

Yeah Dixon wins this thread in a canter for mine.

The fact Hinkley selected him in 2 finals should be enough to end his (Ken’s) career.

The only worse coaching decision I can think of immediately is Longmuir replacing Treacy with Taberner & sending Jackson back into the ruck when we had Reidy dominating the ruck in WAFL. We missed finals over that.

Sorry mate, I cannot agree. How can you be overrated when barely any one has ever rated him.

Chad Warner would have to get a few votes.

He is a bloody good player for sure.

But he isn't Chris Judd levels of good.

Charlie Dixon incredibly over rated by commentators. Especially Dermie who was obsessed with "Big Charlie" being so "big".

In reality he mostly just stood there pointing in the air for players to kick it on his head so he could not mark it then act like he was amazing for "bringing it to ground".

A bloke who made a career from being big but essentially was a poor footballer.

I cannot believe Ken stuck by him this finals series..

Not much in it

Maybe I'm getting old or haven't watched enough Warner.

But I don't put them on an even level at all. Judd consistently dominated games, picked the team up and carried them to a win.

Warner isn't as consistent and doesn't dominate games. He seems to pop up in a quarter or two and impact. Bit like De Goey drifting in and out of games.
