Fort just proved what we already knew - Rucks are over rated. All you need is someone who competes, if they can take marks even better.

Fort didn't "smash" Grundy, he broke even and that's all he needed to do.

It is the old 'ruckmen are like toilets' analogy.

You need a competent one and probably a good backup too - it can create a huge mess if you don't have one at all...

But do you really need to spend big bucks on a deluxe model? At the end of the day they are there to do a pretty dirty, physical job, and the deluxe ones have a tendency to break down leaving you with a tough hole to fill...

Cripps had a broken rib in the 2023 finals series
Charlie had a bung ankle

Didn't stop fans piling on both of them, rightfully so - as soon as you step on the field you're fit and open to scrutiny

Exactly. Was very happy to hear Lloyd say precisely that on the Sunday. The winning team generally has just as many players with niggles and injuries as the losing one.

I'm with you, you take the field you're fit. No excuses. Especially when they're only made after the fact.

Has all the attributes to be a star. The only thing holding him back would be injuries
Kangas took a punt with his hamstring history before the draft. Only 20 going into his 3rd year and contracted atm to end of 2026. To quote Shakespeare, “The spirit is willing, but thy hamstrings are weak”. We hope he and the medical team are leaving no stone unturned for him to realize his potential. Some head knocks last year (in training) and just no consistency in games. This thread should have a caveat of at least 3 years in the system to determine how overrated (or not) each player is IMHO.
