Most Underrated Team?

This is hilarious. I must have missed the finals predicitions last year by all and sundry.

How high can Carlton go in '08?

6-8th. Finals for sure.

March 2005 :

Top 8 is very realistic and will be disappointed if we didn't play finals this year.
How far we go will depend on Livingston, Waite, Walker, DeLuca and other youngsters development since last year, injuries to key players such as French (crucial), Lappin, Campo, Stevens & Kouta but Whitnall probably holds the key above all others. If he continuous to play the way he has started and supports Fevola then we can finish in the top4.

May 2004 :

I'm saying in my eyes (Carlton supporters might not even agree) this team is the core we can build on to win a flag with but definitely play finals with.

Underestimate Whitnall, Sporn & Houlihan at your own peril.

Jan 2003 :

Maybe will have an all victorian finals system also:

Certainties: Essendon, Collingwood, Carlton, Hawthorn and Richmond.

Probables: Melbourne, StKilda

Outsiders: Geelong

Would you like me to find more?

Sorry when is the last time the Roos beat the Dons?

Anyway, besides that, here's our building = Gumbleton, Ryder, Myers, Reimers, Houli, Dempsey, Neagle, Pears, Prismall, Davey, Hurley, Monfries, Jetta, Lonergan, Stanton.

Laycock is a back up ruckman, name a back up ruckman that is better than him. Why worry about Watson's pace when you have Jetta, Davey, Lovett, Dempsey et al to dish it off to. Winderlich would be extremely lucky to make Essendon's best 22.

Who cares where we're rated.

You have beaten us once since 2001. Yeah your our bogey side!

Did you read my comment about Laycock being the worst footballer in the comp. Name a better back up ruck man than Laycock? Try Petrie - who is better than your 1 ruckman judging by the AA this year.

If Laycock is the worst football in the comp then woundn't every other back up ruckman be better?

One game since 2001, muscles. One.

Um, all of them.

He is a laughable footballer.

It was a question. A simple 2007 would have been sufficient.

David Hale is shit with no potential, Lazycock at least has potential. He's much maligned but his stats stack up to most back-up ruckmen in the competition.

With McIntosh out for nearly half the season it was clear Hale and Petrie played more than back-up ruckmen. Back-up ruckmen are Seaby, Taylor, Cloke etc.

Hille shits on Petrie. Petrie has had one season when those outside of North Melbourne actually took notice of him, Petrie will be a one season wonder. As for AA selection, if you base a players ability on the AFL's AA selection then you are desperate.

Petrie!!! Hahahaha he's no footballer! Athlete, hence one season wonder.

Dons will finish higher than North in 2009.

Kangaroos are consistently under-rated. Sydney are consistently under-rated. Adelaide are consistently under-rated. Year in, year out, every pre-season ... regardless of what is actually happening at these three clubs, they are all very popular choices for "the team to slide". Rarely do they.

Which one takes the "prize"? Since Adelaide were tipped by a significant slice of Melbourne media to come last or near-to-bottom in 2005, and Adelaide actually achieved the minor round premiership that year ... I'd put that particular effort right up there in the "under-rating" hall of fame.

Adelaide pretty consistently win against both Kangaroos and Sydney also ... so I'd be bold enough to claim that Adelaide perhaps win this contest.

Sydney and Kangaroos are pretty formidable contenders mind you.
Actually yeah. Adelaide are so under-rated I actually forgot to rate them as most under-rated.

So you honestly think Laycock has more potential than Hale?

I feel a poll coming on. Vote away Donners!! It is there for you now. Good luck.

The crazy thing is ... Adelaide aren't actually old. Their list is somewhere mid-table in terms of average age, and they probably played more fewer-than-ten-games-experience players this year than any other side.

That you're a liar.

Sorry but again, I ask what do I have to do with this thread?
I overrated my team, me, myself, no-one else.

I highlighted the fact that we CANNOT be underated and you highlight the fact I overrated my team.

Now your calling me a "liar".....problem JD is that your obsessed and everyone knows it.:thumbsu:

Really? Why (and how) can you say that?

Because I think we have a better team with far more improvement ahead of us than North Melbourne:

Essendon

FB: Hurley Fletcher McVeigh
HB: Myers Ryder McPhee
C: Reimers Watson Dempsey
HF: Lloyd Gumbleton Monfries
F: Davey Neagle Lucas
Foll: Hille Prismall Houli
Inter: Jetta Stanton Lovett
Laycock

North Melbourne

FB: McMahon Gibson Thompson
HB: Urquhart Firrito Power
C: Wells Simpson Harding
HF: Hansen Petrie Edwards
F: Thomas Hale Campbell
Foll: McIntosh Pratt Harvey
Inter: Jones Rawlings Watt
Lower

Um.. Can someone please send this loser back to the mental ******ation ward

this will be the year the underrated teams drop.

North will fall out of the 8, changing captain, weak forward line, and a backline looking for a standout. Laidley is a good coach nd even though I'm tipping they'll finish out of the 8, injuries is the only thing that would see them in the bottom 4.

Sydney are consistant, very easy team to predict I feel, and people constantly picking their demise are often wrong. This year they will fall, not too far, but look at their record, they always beat sides they are better then, but lose to sides who are better then they are. Their record against top 8 teams was terrible in 2008, and without much youth coming in, they won't improve as much as other teams do. Their consistancy will then see them lose to the teams who are more talented, and as they always do, they'll beat the celler dwellers.

Adelaide I'm picking for an abberation year, not the begginging of a pattern, just a year where things don't go to plan, they've got talent in the midfield, but they have been on the decline, and they'll finally fall out of the 8.

Fremantle will come last.

Underestimate, no. Loathed, yes.

The style of football Sydney play is a shit stain on this great game. Seldom do the Swans, particularly under Paul Roos, play exciting football. I realise winning is important but if you want support in Sydney you'll need to lift your game and be a little more entertaining. Sydney don't do themselves any favours whatsoever.

Typical un-informed view, obviously you watch all of our games? This 'ugly' view is just hyperbole created in the media and ignorant supporters such as yourself jump onboard without any actual insight into our game style.

For some reason whenever we play adelaide and collingwood they bring out the worst in our team. I'll concede that much.

Who are you kidding?

David Hale is shit? Well how did he average 6 goals a game against the best defense in the league?

Petrie is more than a one year wonder. He is the most versatile KPP player in the game. Not only that name a KPP who chases and tackles as much as he does?

You would have to be the least knowledgeable Bombers supporter on here.

You're kidding, right? In the same breath as bagging anyone who jumps on the bandwagon for predicting the demise for the Swans you do exactly the same thing.

It's rubbish that we have no youth coming through. I fully expect Schmidt, Barlow, Currie, Laidlaw, Jack, Smith, O'Dwyer, Bird, Veszpremi and Meredith to play parts in our year barring injury, and all have played less than 20 games, with some not having debuted yet. Murphy will probably debut as well, and Johnston may get a look in as well.

That's potentially 11 players with less than 10 games experience, with Schmidt having played around 15. Not quite a 'no good youth coming through' scenario at Sydney.

omg the donners what is wrong with u.
u no that the syd v wce grandfinals were the most watched?
an some called it the most excitin (aside from the 89).
the point is we win games an thats what footballers are paid to do.

go dress your boys up in skirts n makeup an they can do little dances around the field if u want pretty footy...
woooooops they already do :D
