To be honest all our first choice midfielders except Taylor Adams only run one way. Missing Beams isn’t what’s hurting us. To be honest if I were Buckley at the start of the year I would’ve made one of Sidebottom/Beams play a more permanent crumbing forward role. Let Elliott, WHE and De Goey play as medium lead up targets, Cox and Mihocek as the talls and J Thomas, Varcoe and whichever of Beams/Sidebottom at their feet.

We are getting torched by our midfield’s inability to work hard enough into space when we’re trying to come off half back. Our transition game (unsurprisingly R Harvey’s responsibility) is non-existent - our mids either aren’t working hard enough or that aspect of our game plan flat out ****ing sucks.

Buckley’s an idiot though. If he wanted to beat Hawthorn he should’ve used the only game plan of his that’s ever worked against them.
