Is it still on or has it been cancelled due to lack of interest and no one really gives a fu**?
Your time might be better spent working out how your apostrophe button works.

Round 1
Gold City Royals vs Mount Buller Demons at The Golden Throne

Round 1 saw us facing the Royals in a rainy encounter at the Golden Throne. The forward line had seen a reshuffle and Tarkyn_24 had taken the FF position from FinBar19 who had moved to the FP with sante grabbing the other. Who would have guessed what a formidable line up this combination would prove to be! A tight first qtr was followed by a lacklustre performance in the second qtr by the Dees. The Royals walked into the dressing rooms at halftime full of confidence holding a 23 point lead. The start of the 3rd qtr saw the Dees show their intent and sante slotted 2 in succession in the first two minutes to grab the Royals attention. Mt Buller went into the final break 2 points up. We kicked away early in the last and despite a spirited fight back with Dennis Confetti , brahj and Gentlemen all slotting majors in the final throws MBD held on for the win.

Round 2
Mount Buller Demons vs Roys FFC at Snow Dome

First home game for the season and what a way to celebrate the unfurling of the flag. The Roys showed their intent early with Mooch , Broken , Roylion and Barrels all combining well to give the visitors something to cheer about as they held the lead at each of the first 2 breaks and the majority of the 3rd qtr. The Demons however were never really out of touch and, in what has become a trademark of this side in recent seasons, their “never say die” style of play had them going into the final break with less than a goal lead. The final term it was all Mt Buller with lion around , sante and Tarks doing their thing. Dees by 21 points and 2 in a row!

Mount Buller Demons : 14.9.93
Roys FFC : 11.6.72

Cats2Rise Medal –
First up, did you know that cats2rise only has to play 8 more games for Mt Buller to overtake Deestroy as the player with the 3rd highest amount of games for the Dees?
OK enough of that twaddle, let’s get into it. After FinBar19’s dominant presence up front in S26 the selection committee were questioned as to their sanity when it came to the naming of the side for the first Mt Buller game of S27. Tarks was a proven campaigner in front of the big sticks and leads the all time goal kicking record for the Sweet FA so when put in that context the decision didn’t look that damning however many questioned if his “dicky knees” were up to it. Well the league great went on to prove he did indeed have what it takes, kicking 74 goals in the home and away season averaging 4.625 goals a game and taking out the coveted FRED medal for the leagues highest goal scorer! He was 7 goals clear of his nearest rival! Well done Tarks, enjoy the celebrations mate and we look fwd to you securing your first DERF medal in S28!!

Round 3
Fighting Furies vs Mount Buller Demons at rfctigerarmy's hippodrome

Round 3 saw us play the Grand Final rematch against our feeder club The Furies and the debut of our newest rookie Callums_Guns. Now MBD were riding high on confidence and why wouldn’t they be? Having won their last 7,921 games against the hapless Tigs by an average winning margin of 9 million goals it was no wonder the likes of TJASTA , Tigerturbulance and rfctiger74 were all alcoholic basket cases. Well the heartbreak was set to continue as the opening qtr saw the Demons jump to an early 22 point lead. That gap stretched to 36 points by halftime and Tarks had barely warmed up! Four goals to the league’s eventual Fred medallist had the MBDs up by SIXTY EIGHT points at 3 qtr time. Richard_Cranium lost his shit at the final break break’s huddle as the majority of the Mt Buller players got stomach cramps from laughing so much and couldn’t run out for the start of the final qtr. With only 7 players for Mt Buller on the field for the final qtr they only stretched their lead to 81 points!

Round 4
West Coast Wonders vs Mount Buller Demons @ Dun Lop Stadium (Heritage Round)

With 3 straight wins the Mt Buller side was riding a wave of success. The Wonders were a bit more subdued however were probably quietly confident after winning their last game. This was to be a goal shoot out of epic proportions with 41 goals kicked all up. The Demons led by 16 points at the first break however that lead was cut to the smallest of margins going into half time. The intensity continued to build in the 3rd qtr with 6 goals each and a 2 point margin held by the Wonders going into the last term. Tarkyn_24 booted a goal in the first minute of the final qtr and that was followed up in the next minute by new recruit Callums_Guns. FinBar19 showed he was still all calss with another in the 4th minute to give the Dee’s a comfortable 17 point buffer. Though the Wonders fought hard to the last they couldn’t pull back the deficit and the Mt Buller walked off with their 4th straight win!

West Coast Wonders : 20.8.128
Mount Buller Demons : 21.9.135

Round 5

Mount Buller Demons vs Sin City Swamprats @ The Snow Dome
Going into the 5th round clash with the Rats Mt Buller were undefeated for the season. In fact they had won their last 7 games straight including the GF. The first qtr was a real arm wrestle with only 2 points separating the teams at the first break. The second and third was to see the Rats take the ascendency with some straight shooting from Sarah Smiles and sataris setting up a commanding lead of 57 points going into the last qtr. Ant Bear would have been having flash backs of S26 finals defeat when Tarkyn_24 came out all guns blazing kicking 4 goals in the first half of the final term however the Rats steadied and ran out eventual winners by 25 points.

Round 6
East Side Hawks vs Mount Buller Demons @ Waverley Park

Mt Buller were looking to bounce back after their first loss for the season and who better to best than the Hawks. The Demons shot out of the blocks with a solid first first qtr and led by 12 points. They followed this up with a 10 goals to 4 in the 3rd qtr to hold a 45 point advantage. The Hawks fought valiantly to the end but simply couldn’t drag the deficit back. Dees by 10 points.

Final score:
East Side Hawks : 17.5.107
Mount Buller Demons : 18.9.117
