How do we say who within a group gets assigned a particular seat?

From the FAQ:
What if the seat allocation within my group is incorrect and I have to change who is in each seat?

Group leaders will need to secure the allocation of seats as is for your group during your Seat Secure window. Group members will then be issued their 2018 renewal invoices with adjustments made to reflect the seating arrangement they held in 2017. If the information on renewal invoices remains incorrect, please email changes to membership@westcoasteagles.com.au once invoices are issued (from December). Note that the club will not be able to respond to any requests for changes until after invoices are issued.

Regarding In The Wings:
I am an In The Wings member; when will I receive an offer for Perth Stadium?

At this stage, the club is unable to estimate how many In The Wings members will be offered memberships at Perth Stadium. The number of In The Wings members to receive an offer of membership will depend on many factors, including how many current Season members decide to transition from Domain Stadium and how many seated memberships each In The Wings member requests (remembering that each In The Wings member is eligible for up to two adult and two junior memberships). In The Wings members will be contacted with their 2018 membership renewal information in November 2017, with the upgrade process likely to commence sometime in early 2018. In The Wings members should renew their In The Wings membership, which will be upgraded once an offer of access membership is made and accepted.

Pretty happy in the end, went from block 109 row 8 to block 310 row 9. Up a level and a bit further around. The process was fairly easy but would have been nice if the confirmation email mentioned the change of seats as when I went back to my virtual seats it was still showing the old allocation. Had to go back to the invoices pay the full amount option to confirm the change.

What will be interesting is after next season how easy it'll be to move around.

We as members of WCE have pretty much been conditioned to not to expect to move anywhere else.

Can confirm some ITW members have been offered seats. Of members had family on the wait list the 1st few thousand have been grouped with members.
thats ****en bullshit. unfair to those whove been on the list for sometime (was 5500 before the season started)

Don't want to put words in MBs mouth but I think what he was trying to say is - People in the first few thousand inthewings waitlist were allowed to group with family who were already members, so shouldn't affect your chances of getting a seat.

not sure why the outrage, if anything it is to your advantage.

My daughter has joined our group after 10 years ITW. She was well ahead of you on the waitlist at under 1000. By any reasonable guess she would get an offer for seats at the new stadium. However because she has joined our group she is only using 1 spot not the 4 ( 2 adults, 2 kids) spot ITW members can take up. By getting rid of these ITW members you will rise up the waitlist much faster.

It would also seem to be consistent with allowing groups for new stadium seating and working off the longest serving member.

It's been in the information all along.

ITW and Rookie members could be grouped with existing seated members in the same family - they had to have same last name, and prove it via birth certificates. My son is a 'rookie member' and he has been included in my group. It wouldnt have helped if he was offered a single seat in a completely different part of the ground.

The other catch is they could only get 1 seat per membership - not the normal 4 others can get if they get offered seats. So if you need more than 1 seat, but only had 1 ITW membership, you couldnt do it.

I'll allow it

Good points. It was also noted in the early documentation regarding non-access members being able to request to be added to seated members group (family).

Hap - I have also heard that the ITW list is subject to external audit so that there's no preferential treatment for mates and club associates etc. The club charge people for the ITW membership and they have every right to expect that they will be treated in accordance with the stated rules on ITW membership and not be hijacked by special favours etc.

Indeed, I know a certain WCE player who played a significant amount of games (200+ so he's a life member) for the club and he only has 4 seats. I asked him why he didn't have more (he has 4 kids + his wife) than 4 and I said, "... surely it would be easy for you to get more seats?". He told me that he had to get in line (meaning ITW) like everyone else. Now I reckon if he can't swing a favour or pull a 'swifty' then no one else has a chance.

Fair enough. I do hope that is the truth. Would be very unfair to those who have waited for some time (8 years and counting)

If the "tack on" option was only open to ITW members who were so close to the front of the queue that they were going to get tickets anyway, AND they had to demonstrably be in the same family as the people they were joining, AND they had to forego their right to get four seats instead of one, then I don't see how anyone could have an issue with it.

Yep, I know another (well I assume another) ex-player in a similar boat.

Yep - it would be grossly unfair. I did my 8 years as well and happy to know that my spot in the line was my spot in the line and no one could shaft me out of the way. Paid my $130 every year (we had 2 ITW) and expected to be treated fairly.

I have no doubt you will as well.:D

Just sorted seats - changed from up top into 309.

Family members changed from 310 to 309 because the wall at the end of the row (edge of the grandstand - similar to 326 too) is about shoulder height. The seats in that block really should be listed as 'restricted view'.

I hope the virtual venue physical seats aren't accurate. I tried getting the stadium to drill holes in the ones at Subi Oval as rain would pool on them when it rained where it could not escape as it acted like a bowl. They reckoned it would weaken the seats.

thanks for that sounda.

its been a long time coming. simply cannot wait any longer (till february from the sounds of it)

Some people love the sun....blue and gold terrace and Club 87 getting selected too

Sat on the Roberts Rd side on the wing for over 20 years and the sun issue is very much exagerrated. An invention called a cap solves most issues without too much drama.

Many years ago went to a State of Origin match and sat on the opposite (railway) side. It was a cool but sunny day and it was absolutely frigid in the stands, the concrete was still cold from the night before. Most people went out the back at halftime to warm up in the sun. Those opposite were the lucky ones.

As for the rain it rarely pours and we usually get 1, maybe 2 wettish games a year. I got Section 143 which is the "exposed" side of the new stadium and am very happy with that.

Good for you Pottering - have to respect a person who sees the positive in things. Fact is, I reckon most seats will be brilliant and the game day experience will be light years from that cold, grey, and dank 1960's Soviet style arena - Subiaco. Clean toilets + not having to stand in line for $350.00 buckets of chips + not having to take 1/2 an hour just to reach the exit at the end of the game. The list goes on!

Might well be earlier. In my view, the club will want to get as many bums on seats as possible so they can start sending out invoices. I would think that at 5500 you'll be in for 2018.

Some posters have done some rough sums on this thread re waitlist numbers and available seats etc. Might be worth reading.

And when you've waited 8 years and your turn comes up - you really appreciate going to the footy. I know I did it. My boys absolutely loved it. We went to every game in 2015 + the GF. Shuey kicked that first goal and the kids faces just lit up! Sadly, it was all down hill after that but I told them, "... that's footy boys win with your team and lose with your team" (or something similar). We drove over to Melbourne as a family (mother in law came as well:eek:) and we spent some great time together. All made possible because we joined the club as seated members.

And that made the 8 year wait and every dollar paid worth it:D

Same thing we said. We sat in the sun on the roberts rd wing too. We moved to 143 as well yesterday because we wanted the wing and the warmth. Wear a cap. .. sunnies and enjoy the weather.
