What could he have done better? Please tell us. Not disagreeing with you, but you need to do better than that than to just say he was outcoached. How was he outcoached? What did Sanderson do better than him? What would you have done in that situation? What changed the dynamics of the game after quarter time? How did our match ups affect the result?
I want specifics otherwise it's just another piss and moan thread that this board is accustomed to.

Could he made a scrap after the first quarter instead of a shoot out?
Could he have implemented a few plans that help us score when Riewolt doesnt catch them.
I'm sure they must work on them during the week.
I do t know. Does anyone else want have a go?

really poor coaching again today- I felt he was outcoached and had no plan bs- or cs- this is a recurring pattern

imo the term outcoached is garbage. otherthan swapping fwds for backs like in juniors, wholesale changes dont work. plan b's and c's are also falicies as well. listen to coaches and they tell you you can tell players till your blue in the face but the players cant listen to instruction then your stuffed.does this talking constitute plan b' and c's? the facts are we just dont have the players.

coaching after qtr time was ordinary- no plan bs at all. really dissapointing. It is a trend deserving of note. sheedy outcoached him. freo outcoached him. he needs someone else in there to bounce ideas of.

talia going to reiwoldt cut him right out of the game. then king going off ment we couldnt score or hold the ball in.
i agree with playing rance and grimes on walker and tippett, and trying griff forward. just needed to get the ball to deck and hold it up or get it out of bounds. still think we a tracking well and the boys will bounce back

So you have no answers then? Just as I thought.

I noticed in the last half every time Adelaide went forward, blokes like Walker and Tippett found themselves one out against a single defender, whenever we went forward blokes like jack had 3 or 4 gorillas on him. Now can someone tell me cos I don't know, is that a work rate thing or a structure thing? Why do all our defenders get sucked up the ground. Forward press or not, how come everyone tries to be a midfielder?

All 3 games you've mentioned Dimma being outcoached , we haven't had Foley in our side and have gone into the game with minimal midfield rotations.
Lucky we have had a heap of players to replace Foley.

No team that loses has a plan B, Both teams have their game plans to implement and whoever fulfills theirs consistently through the game will win. Richmond played a great 1st quarter BUT that was it. Where as Adelaide after qtr time played consistent footy, they cracked in for the ball winning contested possession, they kicked the ball into their 50m more effectively giving their forwards one on ones, and they took their opportunities in front of goal kicking straight. I'm positive that Hardwick didn't walk out at Qtr time and say "geez guys that was the best quarter of footy you have played all year, it should be enough to win so don't worry about the other 3qtrs" At the end of the day Adelaide have lost only 2 games including the pre season and they were to the flag favourites collingwood and hawthorn, they are a good side, there is no shame in losing to them at aami by 3 goals. We still have a long way to go but are on the right track

Perhaps the best post of the night.

I do know how to beat us..... if that helps...... Here's the recipe... Start the game by allowing us to run run run.... let us have our space and just try and stop us without applying too much pressure.... release the rains..... Let us play slick high possesion football..... allow us to be front runners..... then at some point in time put the screws in.... start hunting us ..... pressures us around the packs and work hard defensivily slowing us down so you can get back and flood our forwardline... then just watch us bomb the ball to Jack and play off him.... put the after burners on and get the ball back on the rebound as quick as you can and watch our players struggle to get defend. It seems too many of our players are happy to run hard when the going is good.... but when the going gets tough we ball watch....

I actually think the loss today was good for our long term development..... not sure if Dimma planned it that way.

Would just love to see something more open in the forward line. Why it was left the way it was after quarter time when we could barely win a clean possession and Jack had no space to run at the ball has me bewildered.

Like all u guys I watch the games very closely & get frustrated when they kick it on Jack's head when he is outnumbered.. usually the guys kicking it are dumb by foot eg: Edwards, jackson etc.. Its not rocket science but if Jack has 3 on him there are obviously 2 loose tigers in the fwd 50..couldn't we just hit them up instead of a rushed kick to an outnumbered Jack contest???

Think the coaches are doing a great job with this team. Just dont have the cattle yet.

They have the cattle they are just no good. How on earth does ellis get a game every week? Can't win having passengers. Backline needs help Rance is useless newman too old and slow
Houlie too many mistakes griffiths is all at sea he aint a back men. Middfield i only rate cot chin and tuck other come in and out off the game deledio is ok on his own martin in and out his young hell
get there. Graig is ok he tries. now the forward line what a stuff up.
Every game i see jack goes for a mark twenty players around him, Don't the other forwards know how to take there players away leave him one on one even two on one. I see him take one great mark on the wing for crying loud lol.
Miller too slow Nahas total crap elton not ready and i agree hardwick doesn't have a clue about coaching only reason we have improved is the backline has improved even without the cattle under the guidance of Smith.

hardwick coached poorly:

1. bad selections
2. not closing the game out after qtr time- get the structures right
3. letting sloane and walker run beserk- close them down
4. contested footy- what were our structures?
5. millar- what were his instructions?
6. why were our blokes fallin over

coaching is full on- it is a nonstop parry of action and re action- for numerous times this year the wunderkid has been outcaoched and he needs and his team needs to take some blame

A coach can only coach 22 players on a given game day , the fact King went down would have significantly effected the structures which where put into place , after all Connors is not as near as affective as King within Kings defensive forward role . I'd also suspect had King not gone down Connors would have been subbed for Elton who was consistently our marked by Rutten in the later part if the game . It's not coincidentally that our conversation from inside 50's decreased significantly when Kibg was subbed out of the game . Dimma was screwed over by the cattle he had to work with on game day and the selectors had little options due to the state of our list depth . The dropping of Batch and Conca I can handle as I don't think they have been playing well and needed a foot up the arse also the decision to drop them probably came down to a decision between Batch or Grimes and Conca or Connors .

This partially right , the structures were wrong oh so wrong elton was always going to be picked up by rutten a kid in his first game who hasn't exactly torn it up in the resssies against an all Australian? What were we thinking would happen, IMO millers days are up but he continually gets games, if Elton gets a game after a so so performance then why wasn't Derrix played?

At least he would have provided a mature body.

Hard wick has had a reality check and I believe it will cost us a finals spot, miller can't kick to save himself reminds me of. Certain Phillip Walsh great against us crap for us.

Just my 2 cents worth.
