To be honest I don’t give a shit, whatever will be will be. Basically the AFL is a business and the players/clubs etc know what is considered acceptable and not acceptable by society’s standards so if they have stepped outside that they’d have some idea they could get into deep shit.

Like it or not the AFL wants to make sure it appeals to not just the core audience but everyone, and it’s just fact that doing homophobic/sexist or racist things will turn a lot of people off.

People who cry “woke” who stop watching or taking notice of AFL because of a perception the AFL have overreacted would be way less in number to be basically insignificant.

Anyway, bottom line is AFL just cares about its bottom line. Not being swell people who want to fight for social justice cos of some idealism.

I see the scenario being the club being called in the morning by the manager wanting restitution for some very minor damage and the manager mentioning the goings on and that staff on duty felt uncomfortable or abhorrent at the events. The club wanting it contained sooner rather than later went to the League in case there is footage (if it is a licensed venue, it no doubt will) or an A Current Affair cheque book journalist floating around flicking a couple of monkeys in any direction for a story.
