my thoughts is that he is solid defender with way to much beef and he has biggest ass i have ever seen so fat hahahahah
:D Don't know if you'd want to say that to his face.

I guess the guys like him, Dore, Prior and Tyquin are in a league of their own when it comes to weight. I think more often a 195cm and 85kg player will be looked at more favourably by AFL clubs than a 195cm and 105kg player. Mobility gets questioned and so too does the old weight advantage argument.

mojo i was going to say better then any draft camp time except i wasnt 100% sure no you have the facts surely no one can doubht his endurance, mind you something like 10 or 12 stingrays boys got under the 11 minute shows what a fit team they are will show finals time i believe

If that time and the 15.1 beep test and 120kg bench press are right he is almost AFL standard fitness already for a midfielder. Not sure he has much physical development left in him. Impressive package.

Was'nt Hamish McIntosh a top 10 selection with a weight around 100kg ??

By the way does anyone know who the guy on the outer wing at optus with the brown hat was. He was talking to Bowler's father at one point (in front of where all the hawthorn people were)

Maybe. Personally I think specialist fullbacks have to offer a lot of run and rebound. Tyler has looked to be just a solid spoiler when I have seen him. Can't really see him being seen as one of the top-25 big blokes this year.

Re: Matt Tyler

yep can see your point about the full backs. He Has spent time up foward latley and been kicking 3's and 4's for the Rebels, as well as for his school side who made it through to the Herald sun Final

Heven't seen the Rebels recently, but he really looked out of his depth as a forward in the Country trial.

Very Impressive list Mission! first impressions always sit well, I agree with Jack from NSW who was in everything! and Kannis for Qld who I rate highly as CHF, good kick and great hands. They both seemed to miss a few mock lists.

Weaver what does a 'vanilla midfielder' mean, being South Australian I've never heard the term before.

nice list

but i also think sam lonergan from lauderdale should be on that list also

Sam Lonergan is a good footballer at getting the ball, however his use of the ball is no where near what it has to be an AFL footballer. He also appears not to have the acceleration to break away from packs. These are areas he may improve on but I think clubs will wait to see that improvement rather than commit to working on it themselves.

I see him more as a state league footballer rather than an AFL footballer.

Weaver, is Jay Neagle any good? I have never seen him play but I read in the paper's he keeps kicking bags in the TAC. By all reports he was very ordinary in the u/18 carnival and disappointed many people with his efforts. Do you think it is in Essendon's but interested to take a punt on him with their father/son pick or is he not worth the investment?

Specialist full forwards are rarely sought after in this day and age.

I would have thought Essendon's best interest would be served by encouraging Neagle to NOT nominate for the draft. Give him a fitness / nutrition program and have him play a 2nd year of TAC footy.

Make a decision about him at the 2006 draft, instead of this year. Maybe rookie list him at the end of 2006 (can't rookie him this year - he is too young).

I wouldn't have thought a 3rd round pick on him this year would be worthwhile. Yes he is kicking bags but he is a great team with lots of options that make it impossible to zero in on him.

Great effort

kid from west perth - Bailey needs to be on there

Ryder is a top 5-10

Kennedy- needs to be a lil higher IMO

Swallow was almost an eagle last yr and a defn this yr to go

Seal is high IMO

Toovey, Riggio and Grant also to be added

1. Marc Murphy (ROV) - only genuine homerun selection.
2. Mitchell Clark (FF) - rubbish carnival, squib, but huge upside and athleticism.
3. Andrew Swallow (CTR) - had him top-20 last year and he is better now. Has pace.
4. Xavier Ellis (W) - will be damaging when he bulks up. Good skills.
5. Beau Dowler (FF) - needs to get some fire in his belly, but great set shot and mark.
6. Jarrod Oakley-Nicholls (W) - athletic and pacy. Tall wingers are prized.
7. Cleve Hughes (CHF) - presents well, good hands, not super-athletic
8. Marcus Drum (HBF) - lots of talent, worry about AFL position.
9. Jon Simpkin (ROV) - clean and precise in crowds, genuinely two-footed.
10. Josh Kennedy (CHF) - athletic, tall, might be better down back.
11. Scott Pendlebury (?) - athletic freak, raw, poor skills, still learning.
12. Mathew Spangher (CHB) - Plays tight, attacking running, improving quickly.
13. Patrick Ryder (?) - talented, athletic but where will he play?
14. Austin Lucy (CHB) - not quick enough for FB, but rampaging runner when started.
15. Darren Pfeiffer (W/HBF) - Nothing special, good allround game.
16. Beau Muston (CTR) - was burning before injury, solid allround game.
17. Heath Hocking (ROV) - Hard at-it, tough, wins ball.
18. Shane Neaves (RCK) - best of elligable, genuine ruckmen.
19. Tom Rischbieth (FF/FB) - Did some handy things, competed well. Plays both ends.

21. Jace Bode (C) - big ruck-rover, not much pace, needs to win hard-ball.
22. Paul Bower (CHB) - athletic and quick, lots of raw potential, plays too loose.
23. Richard Douglas (BP/ROV) - Tough, football smart, poised.
24. Ryan Jackson (Utility) - can play anywhere. Lacks pace, but has rest.
25. Nathan Jones (ROV) - solid ball of muscle who charges through anyone.
26. Grant Birchall (CTR) - they'll take Hurn and Bode before Birchall.
27. Brad Sugars (HFF) - good overhead, clever, good skills.
28. Courtney Dempsey (W) - pace, some flair, had poor carnival.
29. Shaun Higgins (W) - some pace, likes a goal.

31. Rees Thomas (CHF) - has good days and bad days marking, bit flat-footed.
32. Sam Elliott (ROV) - got plenty of ball, used it OK. Vanilla rover though.
33. Shaun Grigg (HBF) - can carry the ball when he wants too, bit of toe.
34. Steven O'Bryan (CTR) - blends into crowd, but gets ball, plays tight.
35. Brad Kelleher (FB) - good for a novice, lacks a little size.
36. Mathew Laidlaw (HBF) - not overly athletic, but competes well.

41. Angus Graham (RK) - good size, well balanced. Raw.
42. Jake McGuane (CHF) - Inconsistant, but can take a contested mark.

46. Alan Toovey (HBF) - good runner, lacks height.
47. Robert Warnock (RCK) - pencil thin but has potential.
48. James Bennett (ROV) - unobtrusive but uses ball very well.
49. Chris Dunne (CTR) - tough, can open up packs, not in the elite group though.
50. Tim Looby (HBF) - Thumping kick, aggresive.
51. Zac Kelly (HFF) - bit of pace and spark around goals.
52. Greg Bentley (HFF) - can play a few positions, reasonable talent.
53. Gareth Bowes (ROV) - good in close, rovers tend to be cheap buys.
54. Ben Taggert (HBF) - can play tall, can play wing, very top-age.
55. Luke McEntee (RCK) - very raw, new to game, good athlete.
56. Wayde Mills (CHB) - good performer, poor kicking action (too cramped).
57. Dylan Addison (W) - was better last year, has some zip.
58. Josh Eddy (HBF) - good footballer, just nothing special.
59. Travis Casseley (W) - genuine wingman, pace but timid.
