I sorta get what your saying Mouth but disagree. I have no idea if you saw the game live ? As on the TV you can lose the whole ground perspective. I made sure I sat as high as i could on the stadium so i could get a good look of our running patterns and set ups and i have to say, there is a system there and its actually quiet good, well the best I have seen in the last 4 years.

You mention about how we can not dictate terms to good teams. We actually did that for most of the game. When Norf got there run on, and kicked I think 3 9 pointers we were able to then restrict them and counter attack pretty easily. Every time Norf surged to try to kick away, our defensive movement was clear as day.

What struck me as a positive, after the 5 min mark of the last quarter, we obviously have a system now to "win" a game if behind. The backs moved up, the forwards spread to the fat side of both pockets and our mids created 2 defensive side of center with the rest in the attacking side and it worked. We played nearly all that quarter in our forward 50. Obviously if we had of taken marks we should have, as well as kicked a little straighter, we most likely would have won.

The reason i highlighted the above, is that I have been to a stack of games and never seen us have a system like that before. It was really pleasing to see. IMO we still have wholes on our list, ie waiting for some to take the next step but outside of that, from what I have seen, well make the finals pretty easily.

Imo their list is in different stages of development. When scott started their list was more mature and had more pieces in place than us. We are about a year behind them imo.

They finished equal 3rd in finals. They didn't finish top 4. Finishing top 4 means top 4 on the ladder after 22 games.

Still feels like we are North's bitch. Particularly centre clearances. The number and quality of their clearances leaves us struggling to catch up. And except for 1/2 of footy last year it's been that way for a while. We just don't match up on them very well.

Best part of that play was that this was Griffs next touch after having been tackled about 2-3 minutes earlier (on top of having grassed a few marks as well). Bit of Channelled aggression and then his game started to improve....
