By the way, Richmond are not playing a lot of their senior guys because they are not fit and have not done a full preseason, we are fortunate that so far we have had a good run with most players completing a full preseason so we have no reason to rest players.

lol rubbish. We have hardly had anyone in rehab for extended periods and they have had one of the toughest pre season to date. Last off season 10 had surgey, this off season only 2

Honey and Prudden should be lock ins to play
They have had amazing pre-seasons, Prudden will play across half-back and midfield
Can't wait

Without stating the obvious, we must select our best side because we don't have the luxury of easing players into the season. Every membership we gain through decent pre-season performances is like gold. A club like Richmond with already over 60000 members does not face such imperatives.

Yep there's no way all those guys are injured/underdone.

Got my tix today, I'm really looking forward to it but it's a real shame that richmond didn't field a better team. I suppose it's more of a nostalgia event for us and they just see it as any NAB/Wizard/etc, Cup/Challenge game. I'm a bit disappointed about that.

Should be a good arvo but 2 things that I'm worried about is 1. grabbing a beer without having to wait for ages and 2. If the great atmosphere that all the Footscray VFL games supplied is AFLised (if thats a word, if not I'm claiming to be the coiner).

GO DOGS

I'm with you Vital. Can't wait to see this bloke play. If he can stay sound, he's a major player in our future (at half back with capacity to go mid).

I hope he goes well...but if we're hanging our hats in Prudden to play a major part in our future, we really are grasping at straws.

When he's played, he's played well. But 5 good games at vfl level does not an afl career make. He is currently making Matty Egan's durability look like Jimmy Steynes'

You'll note, however, that his influence on our future was conditional on his soundness.

Indeed I did. I just have reservations that his soundness actually occurs.
On exposed form the reservations are reasonable. I'm suspending those reservations for a moment and going with the "what if he is and remains sound scenario". In that scenario he's raising the cup with bonts, stringer, libba, hrovat, boyd et al....

NFI. Although I believe they take a dim view of pin sized lenses on shoes...

...and here I was wanting to take images of the 'action' from every conceivable angle. Thanks for truly ruining my day!

I was so excited when I discovered this was going to be on foxtel. I was agonising over whether or not to take my three year old but the cricket on TV won out in the end. Hope we put up a good showing.

Irrelevant to this weekend's game, but it is relevant to our match against Melbourne:

So, essentially, Foxtel refuses to show these games but the broadcast agreement bars any other arrangement which allows either the live or delayed footage to be broadcast. What a joke.

"How dare you dispute our standard definition picture quality & sporadic NAB Challenge coverage. No streaming. Sit back down and eat your gruel or there WILL be consequences."
And guess which teams have every single one of their games broadcast live? Richmond, Hawthorn, Essendon, Geelong, Collingwood and Carlton. ****ing pathetic. Equalisation my arseh*le.

Colour me surprised.

Despite derailing the entire 2013 season (as a starting point, in hindsight), the Tullamarine Appellants received the most favourable TV fixture of all in 2014.

Despite making the finals by default and embarrassing themselves throughout 2014, Carlton continue to debase the Friday night footy experience.

I almost died after choking on the irony of LoGiudice (needs spell check) complaining about Carlton's fixture and the negative impact it had on their revenue.

**** those clubs, and **** the AFL's thinly veiled attempts to keep us quiet.
