For anyone who wants another reason to go the game then watch it on TV, Dwayne Russel will be commentating for FOX. Good luck to those who have to try and survive the full game without putting your remote through the TV.
All planned! Stock the fridge, jump on the couch and watch the cricket and have the second TV on the footy without sound! Next best alternative to being there :)

By the way, Richmond are not playing a lot of their senior guys because they are not fit and have not done a full preseason, we are fortunate that so far we have had a good run with most players completing a full preseason so we have no reason to rest players.

As Tiger71 said, this is utter trash

Almost all of our players have had full pre-seasons, our first pick Ellis has been in rehab along with Matt Thomas (now on the rookie list). Any other player in "rehab" has been there for a couple of days max just managing their work-loads. As far as our senior guys being "not fit", this is probably the most fit our list has been as a whole in a LONG time.

I'm spewing the footy starts at 4.40pm meaning I'll pretty much miss all of the second innings of the cricket in a game which I think will be a cracker.

Maybe I'll just IQ it and hope no one spoils the finish on my way home from the footy.

@AFL_PKeane: AFL advises Sam Darley has withdrawn from the Bulldogs' NAB Squad v Richmond at Whitten Oval on Saturday to be replaced by Jordan Kelly.

I'm only going off training reports from on here, but is anyone else surprised that Smith (or one of the other draftees) didn't get the go ahead of Kelly?

Think its a decision based on Bev seeing what we have on our list then he can add a couple of draftees to it, if he feels a player (with a couple of preseasons behind them is not up to standard) then he might swap a young player in, in the coming games. C.Daniel is probably already in our best 25 odd players already so it must be looking at players with some senior experience first. Its only a nab cup game and the first game of the season, don't think anything should be read into it.

Do what I and I expect a lot of others will do - hit up a pub in Footscray after the game and watch it there...

You shouldn't miss too much, really - an hour and a bit of the 1st innings, and half an hour or so of the 2nd.

Dwayne has two modes when commentating on the bulldogs:

1. Combination of ignorance / surprise
2. Patronising

Game is in NZ, starts at 12:00, will finish before 8:00! Basically the game will be on while the second innings is on in the cricket.

No Darley means Prudden will get even more of a go off half back. Looking forward to seeing him in action.

In before first intercept mark is labelled "divine intervention"

From the official Richmond BF account:
Here's an update from the AFL on getting into tomorrow's game:

Western Bulldogs v Richmond match at Whitten Oval is close to a sell-out with less than 1,500 tickets available via Ticketmaster. Should capacity be available on the day a limited number of Club or AFL Members will be able to scan into the venue, however all members and fans are strongly encouraged to upgrade or purchase tickets in advance to guarantee their entry and avoid disappointment.

Those attending the match are also advised to allow plenty of time to arrive at the venue and take public transport where possible as car parking options are limited.

On the Bulldogs website now as well:

Hoping for a cracking atmosphere at the WO, the Punt Road pre season match last year was fantastic as we belted the Bombers on our home deck, hopefully for nostalgias sake you lot enjoy the same (without the belting :p)

Who's missing from your best 22 from this squad?

For anyone else that's driving down tomorrow, any suggestions on parking? The last VFL game I saw, I parked at the station and wandered down.

Thinking about doing that again but coming in a fair bit earlier and grabbing something to eat.
I'm driving down, best to park at the station
i plan on getting there at 2pm to get a solid parking
